That should be code 43, not her problem work wasn't supplied. How long was the break supposed to be, what if freight didn't show up for 3 hours? There is also a difference between being sent home and choosing to go home.
My point exactly. I don’t drive 45 minutes to work on my day off to sit around for who knows how long, unpaid. As of 10:00 they still had no idea when the flight was even going to leave Memphis!

No guarantee then. You were instructed to take a break while waiting on freight and then go onroad. You said no to the break while waiting on freight request and went home. They should waive the 4 hrs.

Employees cannot be required to take a break because there is no available work. Refusing to take a break that you aren't required to take is not grounds for losing the pay. There may be something else at play in this instance, but it's that she's turned down any work.

Never said that. She declined to go back onroad when the freight was gonna arrive. I am not taking issue with the break. The issue is she declined to wait on the freight and go back onroad. How can anyone expect to get paid guarantee pay when they declined the opportunity to work 4 hrs? When a FT swing is running a PT route and declines to help with deliveries or pu after he finished the PT route, he does so knowing he will be waiving his right to 35hr guarantee.

Why are you putting words in my mouth? I never said I refused to go back on the road. I was ON THE ROAD when she told me to take a break. You seriously need to work on your reading comprehension. You are not understanding anything I’ve said. You’re really over thinking it.

No she didn't, she was told to go home by the manager on duty. She was more than willing to wait on the freight.

From what I've seen, he has to overthink everything in order to just write a sentence.

As a ramp employee what are you guys meant to be doing while waiting on freight? Seems pointless to send you home if there is freight on the way. Do they not have you guys start later?

They could have had us start later, but they didn’t. We’re supposed to be in a Code 43, waiting for CTV, code. Management tries to save hours by making people think they have to take a break. We senior couriers know better and refuse.

Answer the question, How long should she be required to wait while on unpaid status?

As you said before you do not have the IBT backing you. You sound like a problem employee. Remember what me and @Big Arrow Down...D were telling you the other day about the manager you LOVE so much, and is such a great guy? Maybe, just maybe, we were right....
