"Back then" is 2008 and turkeys were about the same price as today. I Remember them being at least 12 pounders. Weren't they handled and trucked around by our own union labor?

Our Local used to coordinate with UPS to take any unclaimed or donated bird to a local food center.

My center split them up between the food shelf and the local women's shelter. Both worthy recipients.
