Ps sweet pea, you are not a preloader, you work sort.
Agreed...we identify by own positions or the center we work in...but we're all preloaders.Preload's a shift, not a position. Unload, sort aisle, inbound, outbound-- if they work the preload shift, they're a preloader.
How can the OP be sorting on the 1st day? Isn't that a preferred position that should go to a senior employee?

Btw, I did not clock in today I was just assigned to positions. Will I obtain a user ID to clock in? How does UPS clock in system work. My sup knows I did work however 4 hours and so does HR. I just don't want them not counting my work just because I wasn't assigned an ID and wasn't put into the system right away
I agree,...even with a 1.50 raise on the starting wage....they can't get them to stay more than a few weeks.Funny headsup regarding the preload - apparently the majority of new hires have been quitting. I believe the rate was 75% thus far. I won't go any further seeing "people" read here.
Yeah, I think it was $8.50 in the 1980's. Welcome to PAS, ORION, etc. and interchangeable cheap labor.I agree,...even with a 1.50 raise on the starting wage....they can't get them to stay more than a few weeks.
It was $9 or 9.50 when I started.Yeah, I think it was $8.50 in the 1980's. Welcome to PAS, ORION, etc. and interchangeable cheap labor.
That's true...what was the federal minimum wage back then...about $3.35 or so?$8.50 in the 80s was good money..
Lol from what I understand the last few groups here have come in for the tour and before its over they tell HR they aren't interested anymore.Funny headsup regarding the preload - apparently the majority of new hires have been quitting. I believe the rate was 75% thus far. I won't go any further seeing "people" read here.
$10 was bare min needed to pass the contract. $12 is about where it needs to be to retain employees.I agree,...even with a 1.50 raise on the starting wage....they can't get them to stay more than a few weeks.
That's true...remember when it was 18 unless you were FT college student?$10 was bare min needed to pass the contract. $12 is about where it needs to be to retain employees.
The union acted like $1.50 was so awesome but even then after 90 days it was only a 50 cent raise. Kids are on their parents insurance until 26 now. They could care less about that.
That's true...remember when it was 18 unless you were FT college student?
That was like 4 years ago. Yeah I remember.....
Federal minumum wage in 1982 was $3.35. Hell...when I got my first job "on the books" in 1993...minimum wage was only 4.75. Maybe your state minimum wage was higher.Min. wage in 1982 was $5.25/hr.
Yeah it was $8.50/ $9.50 preload/sort/HV/LV pickoff in 2001. Good luck finding any ounce of skill or passion to survive PEAK at UPS for a month or two for those types of wages (near $10).It was $9 or 9.50 when I started.
