That's true...remember when it was 18 unless you were FT college student?

A tour came through today around 2am (for the midnight shift). I had a 144 lb. package and it flipped over a palette, I just smiled and the tour guide tried not to pay attention as they watched.Lol from what I understand the last few groups here have come in for the tour and before its over they tell HR they aren't interested anymore.
I wanna say back 15 or so yrs ago...and maybe this depending on which insurance you were under...but it was 18 unless you were a FT student...then you were covered until age 23.
and the dollar raise after 90 days. I remember my first paycheck after I made book...and they took out dues and $25 a week towards the initation fee....I think I took home $135....lolYeah it was $8.50/ $9.50 preload/sort/HV/LV pickoff in 2001. Good luck finding any ounce of skill or passion to survive PEAK at UPS for a month or two for those types of wages (near $10).
I googled it and $5.25 came up. I'll try again.Federal minumum wage in 1982 was $3.35. Hell...when I got my first job "on the books" in 1993...minimum wage was only 4.75. Maybe your state minimum wage was higher.
http://www.dol.gov/whd/minwage/chart.htmI googled it and $5.25 came up. I'll try again.
Yeah $3.35 in 1981. Not sure what I was looking at earlier.
No way I think it was raised in early to mid 90s to that..Min. wage in 1982 was $5.25/hr.

I already admitted to being wrong. $3.35/hr.No way I think it was raised in early to mid 90s to that..
They paraded a preload tour down my belt yesterday....too old, old, fat, fat, old....etc.Lol from what I understand the last few groups here have come in for the tour and before its over they tell HR they aren't interested anymore.
Yeah virtually no one under the age of 25 (ups bread and butter before) has Any desire to do this job. They paraded a preload tour down my belt yesterday....too old, old, fat, fat, old....etc.
I agree but they still won't be beating down the door. Not for $10/hr and 3 1/2 hours a night. Raise the starting wage to $15/hr and see what happens.
A few young guys think they do....till they get hired.Yeah virtually no one under the age of 25 (ups bread and butter before) has Any desire to do this job.
3.5 hrs a day? Somedays I wish..lolNot for $10/hr and 3 1/2 hours a night. Raise the starting wage to $15/hr and see what happens.
