Embarrassment is not the word I would use. How about a slap in the face. The company values an employee on their first day walking through the door more then someone who has worked here for years.

They've more or less lost control over some of the belts in my building because of discontent over bonuses. That's probably gonna ratchet up another notch or two come Monday. Now the new hires aren't making $10/hr plus bonuses. Once retropay lands it's $13 plus bonuses. That's equivalent to $23/hr for a 20 hour work week. That puts a lot more high seniority skill position people in the "you probably won't fire me because I cost you less than a new hire" camp.

On the other hand, I'm just on the cusp of having ground out enough years to afford a house. I'd rather take the money.

The demographics are in the favor of UPS for many reasons, including the understanding that teenage part-timers are not going to participate. Who heard of a democratic process in which you need x percent of turn out or the vote is invalidated? This needs to be investigated. Hoffa, Taylor, and Tony Q must be tried. Find out Tony Q's IP, identity, then review his posts and put his ass in jail. LOCK THEM UP. LOCK THE DEPLORABLE UP.

You want a toe? I can get you a toe.
Almost 100k members voted. Id say thats a good amount. This garbage law was implemented when UPS wasnt a revolving door and more people planned to stay. You expect people who are only planning to work here 6 months to vote on others futures. That would be wrong for them to do if anything. That law needs to go or at least require 1 year seniority to be counted otherwise its a scam to pass whatever they want.
At this point we need separate contracts. 50% will never be achieved with part timers under the same contract and we will get shoved down our throats whatever the IBT wants to.

Will the 22.3 need a separate contract? How about Feeders? How about the car wash or porters.? Divide and conquer?

What’s funny is you said we were going on strike but aren’t because you and the rest of the ass suckers have no nuts. You lied the entire time. Just get another screen name so you can change your position.
What I find funny is that your leader Sean o passed his supplement and now he can’t fix anything with the newly passed master. Remember this. He wanted this master fixed to fi all the pension stuff that he screwed up when he was the assistant to the hofficer in the last contract. He made his deal with the devil, had to fix it with a passing of the eastern region supplement in the first try.

Not a very smart move

Yes, but my point is, a part timer, that doesn’t plan on working here more than two years isn’t going to take the steps that I did. How many didn’t receive a ballot? And even then, it’s time to separate from the part time work force.

I don't disagree with you about the PT chasing a ballot, my point to the PTer that was whining about not getting one was that it could've been handled with just the slightest of inconvenience.

Wake up, it's all over red rover. Next contract we all take a pay cut, making less than new hires with their bonus. Arbitrary hoops we can't jump through, impose it. LOCK THEM UP.

In all honesty....if THIS contract actually does pass because of this technicality....I'm dropping my union membership
friend' -em They aint' getting another dime for me.
Call me a scab....
Not a good solution. A better solution is to rally everyone to PARTICIPATE and vote Hoffa out. Key word is PARTICIPATE! This is our own fault that this is happening. How pathetic that 55 percent didn’t vote.

Might as well divide and conquer. I mean it's what the company does. It's what the IBT does.

Better to have a voice and less leverage than no voice and not use the leverage we have in my opinion.

The start of the two tier PT wage system was the beginning of the divide and conquer campaign. Further escalated with the 2 then 3 and now 4 year progression. But not to worry you will be making $40/hr at the end of the contract.
