You know what I'm trying to say. The part time wage is a joke. It was $8 for about 30 years. It was not the government, it was the President that gave us a raise.
I agree completely. Just gets to be a bigger joke every contract. Wow, $.50/hr raise last contract. The benefits are great but most people would like to have a decent wage to go with it.You know what I'm trying to say. The part time wage is a joke. It was $8 for about 30 years.
When I started here I could get by on what I made here. I made more in 25 hours at UPS, than I did working 40 hours at my previous job.I agree completely. That shouldn't be allowed.Seasonal pay where I work was same as permanent employee wages, friend in NE area said they were doing 13.50 for all seasonal workers.
Personally I think it's bs that someone who will only work there for 2 months is going to get 3.40/hr to start more than someone who is a permanent employee and should be much more proficient at the job.

It's not a slap, its more like a teabag.Couldn't agree more, I guess the company has full control over what they pay seasonals though since they aren't under our contract, it's almost like they did it simply to insult the permanent hourlies, I can't imagine it was because they had trouble finding bodies in heavily populated areas.
Last Peak UPS was advertising on the radio for seasonal package handler help at $15/hr. They then only hired permanent PT at $10/hr. We have many PT with Nov and Dec seniority dates from last year.Seasonal pay where I work was same as permanent employee wages, friend in NE area said they were doing 13.50 for all seasonal workers.

And they said something about a bonus too. I heard similar commercialsLast Peak UPS was advertising on the radio for seasonal package handler help at $15/hr. They then only hired permanent PT at $10/hr. We have many PT with Nov and Dec seniority dates from last year.
I wish I got a bonus for doing what is expected of me.And they said something about a bonus too. I heard similar commercials
