1 daughter is a teacher, another is working on her PhD and my wife is a teacher's assistant. Do you know many schools that are open over Christmas break?
This year, I bid the week of Thanksgiving, as they all have that off also.

I always bid Thanksgiving week, and any week that has a holiday built in, for the extra money.

Sure I do, but they also have more time off than almost any other common profession.

I am retired and can tell you from experience in my case. I have taken this week before. When the 25th falls on a week you want to take a vacation week it is not allowed due to officially being peek to the 25th. My past managers over 30 years would say ok but ofcourse you have to work till the 25th. Some years due to seniority I have just requested that time off after the 25th when it falls on a day during the week that I wanted as vacation.it depends on ur manager and if he's an ass or if the drivers an ass. Lol. You will also be taxed on ur check as if you were cashing a week in which is a higher rate since the contract states no vacation weeks allowed after thanksgiving thru Xmas

It was busier this year because the holidays set up a 3 day weekend for most people, leading to extra online shopping.
