Welfare potheads

Anyone else sick of the welfare potheads who get Amazon stuff everyday? It's unbelievable the number of drugs addicts who get :censored2: everyday and when they open their door a cloud of weed smoke engulfs you. Half the time they are never there and it's a signature required package but you can always count in them being there the first of the month. I'm sick of these lowlifes. I've turned a blind eye to it for a long time but after seeing stacks of cash, drugs, poor little dirty kids in diapers walking around and getting cussed at or, smacked I think in gonna start reporting them. Imagine the difference UPS drivers could make if everyone did the same thing. Maybe I'm wrong idk....anyone else experience situations like this? I see this at least 5-10 times a day.
I think you may have just described a typical delivery at my house as soon as I retire

Uh, guess you don't know any social workers. If they've got a bed and there's food in the fridge, all a phone call will do is waste everyone's time.

The guy delivers a box, smells weed, and wants to report them to the authorities lol. Get real.

I never made a judgment on what should or should not be considered abuse. I would not call an alert on parents for smoking weed. In fact I have never witnessed a situation that I felt warranted such a call. My assumption is that if you call and the only thing you have to give them is weed smoking, I doubt very much anyone would waste their time looking into it (at least not these days, and not where I live). On the one hand, I'm not interested in being a nosy, busybody spy for some over-zealous government agency to go start taking people's kids away. On the other hand, if I did witness something that I felt needed to be investigated, I owe it to the kids involved to make the report.

It's not as simple as calling it in to report it. I worked in homes and trailers in the Midwest and most of the time, they're people just trying to make it. Sometimes it's bad parents. On the very, very rare occasion is it something worth bringing to the authorities.

I've seen mushroom grows and weed grows and non-meth lab equipment. What adults do for hobbies is their business. There was only one time I ever had to report to authorities, and then involved speaking with them an additional 3 times and child services etc.

If you ever encounter a real situation in which children are being abused (or come to you about abuse), the best thing to do is write down everything that happened or was spoken immediately. You'll be spending a good chunk of time with police and FBI and every other acronym. As easy as it is to take kids away, it's really not, and reporting it will likely end up being worse for the kid(s).
