What is the REAL reason negotiations have stalled?

Oh @bacha29 you just got through with a long soliloquy explaining why we need to get their support and now you say they don’t care? You just can’t seem to find your footing with your foot in your mouth and your head up your ass.
We'll see what the public thinks if your strike erupts into violence and cops start getting beat up and state governors react harshly.
I actually looking forward to seeing you people go on strike just to see how long you can hold your ranks together for however long it takes and you can keep it peaceful. I want to see how long you can cope with the pressure and anguish of a protracted strike.

I want to see if the bluster, bragging and bravado you people have been expending in record setting quantities can be backed up with matching quantities of determined resolve.

Part-time pay is absolutely an issue and an issue for the union this year because unlike 30-40 years ago, part-time starting pay is at the level or not far above minimum wage in many states
Our contract starting wage is actually below the federal minimum guidelines now

“And in no case is the company bringing people in at the Teamsters’ negotiated minimum of $15.50. As a federal contractor, the company is now required to pay at least $16.20 under an executive order from President Biden setting a minimum wage for companies doing business with the government.”

Do you even work at ups? @bacha29
I was a Day 1 contractor at RPS/Caliber/ Fedex Ground. It was and remains a very shrewd company that despite it's poor reputation has a market share that is now only 4% smaller than UPS 33% vs 37% . That is how much it has grown in recent years. Now despite claims that they are going to maintain normal operations the freedom they have to operate in any fashion they want should give any Teamster pause when it comes to the belief that Fedex will not do everything in it's growing power to capitalize to the greatest extent possible on the current discord ongoing at UPS.

FedEx will never be on ups level. They couldn’t handle our volume, good luck though.

4% smaller than ups and how much less do you get paid? How do the benefits compare?

And that's exactly what I want you to do. Get every one of your members prepared and made to understand that this will be a long protracted strike. One in which they should be prepared for surprise countermeasures from UPS and other carriers .

But most importantly do not take out their frustrations by taking the law into their own hands.

36% of gross revenues vs 55% of gross revenues at UPS. And as your own union has pointed out that 19% disparity is what UPS is determined to narrow if not close altogether. There lies the spoils that await the victor.
