Why?

I was certain UPS owns its own mapping that came with the development of ORION. Remember when they had guys driving everywhere with their tablets pinpointing everything? UPS maps are much more location specific vs existing Google, Apple, or Microsoft maps. Our Navigation typically brings us to correct docks, rear door delivery points, and down long residential driveways. Where Google Maps and others simply stops at the front of the building in the street by default.

I'd be surprised if UPS still had to pay for some underlying map software that ORION maps is based on and that it would be so expensive to make this type of cut.
@catstalking - does UPS pay for mapping?

I was curious what Amazon's delivery software looked like. Actually pretty similar to ours. Similar map feature that we currently have and they'll continue to have as yet another advantage over us. Notice they even have a system apparently as stupid as Orion. This driver demonstrates how stop #3 is next door to stop #27 (I wish our icons showed stop #).

If you wake up every day with a mindset that you're gonna do the minimum possible to get by, I don't wanna be associated with you and I think you're trash.

Try your best every day. Period.
It’s a lot easier to come in and burn down a route, go home early and keep your supervisors off your back.

You are describing taking the easy way out like you are some hard worker and wrongfully blaming the people who are doing it correctly for interrupting your easy way out methods.

The guy who I get his volume for him when he gets over dispatches is jacked and attractive. He follows Orion and makes his money. I don’t ever blame him for doing his job and actually appreciate I don’t have a coward in my loop that is giving management a reason to take out split cars.

Some people take this job way too seriously. In their minds the rest of us are lazy slugs.

Those guys that run every day come to me constantly and asking me what they can do about the company giving them 250+ stops every day. I told him to file 9.5. Oh, you mean you’re doing 250 stop every day and you’re not over 9.5.? Sounds like they’re gonna give you 270 stops tomorrow. 🤷‍♂️ enjoy your short career, filled with injuries and accidents.

I had another guy get mad at me and tell me he has things to do and even if he slowed down, it’s not like they would add more routes. He burned that route to the ground and moved to an easier route that he is also burning to the ground.. but after he left the route he had burned down they added a base car and took about 90 stops off of his route because the guy that took his old route won’t get it done. he was pissed and telling me the company was harassing him because they took off that route that used to be on L O L . You just can’t make up this crap up. And I wish it was just the new people that thought that way we have 20+ year guys they haven’t figured it out yet.

Do it the way you were trained and work safe. I had a guy who told me he likes to run for the exercise on route. Now he likes to hobble.

Those MFs always seem to be coming in and out of the dispatcher’s office when I show up 15 minutes before start time…….. an HOUR after they got there. 🤦‍♂️🤣

They cry and cry and cry

And punch out at 5:45.

I don’t really blame them for trying to get done early but like stop complaining about your dispatch if you’re still getting done hours before everybody else

Is it possible that the removal of the map option is related to the tech performance of the new DIAD? It seems so slow lately. Scan., wait, wait, DOODLE OOP! Things are taking longer. Maybe this is an effort to speed up the performance of the board.

Mostly, it’s gonna be due to the fact that they want people to follow Orion
