Are there really any winners after a strike?

Sure looks like it:

.... 1,400 new jobs and pay raises topping 10 percent...

One analyst called the deal "very rich" for workers at Verizon, the No. 1 U.S. wireless provider, which reached the tentative pact with the Communications Workers of America (CWA) on Friday. Details for the new four-year contract were disclosed on Monday.

The CWA said Verizon agreed to provide a 10.9 percent raise over four years while Verizon put the increase at 10.5 percent.

... It will withdraw proposed cuts to pensions as well as reductions in accident and disability benefits. The company, however, won cost savings through changes in healthcare plans and limits on post-retirement health benefits.

A 2.72% raise over 4 years.

Kind of average.... but a win, nonetheless.

The most interesting part is;

"It will withdraw proposed cuts to pensions as well as reductions in accident and disability benefits. The company, however, won cost savings through changes in healthcare plans and limits on post-retirement health benefits."

Where have we heard that before ?

So maybe.... just maybe.... it's not just the Teamsters and UPS. :biggrin:

Wherever I see Trump, it smells like he's Putin.
Here's a couple of wins from the NYT. It will be interesting to see if more retail stores go union. With the recent push to boost the federal minimum wage, it's possible that this might gain traction fur those workers.

"The four-year contracts would give workers a nearly 11 percent increase in pay over all, up from the 6.5 percent increase that Verizon had proposed before the strike, as well as modest ratification bonuses and profit-sharing.

Significantly, the new contracts also cover some 65 unionized workers at Verizon Wireless stores, signaling the first time that retail wireless workers at the company have been included in a union contract, a potentially important precedent."
