glad I'm retired......

I have told a couple of our drivers "where's your pride???"

they just laugh

must not have any anymore.
In my center it’s not bad. Small center and other than beards and a few tats it’s pretty much the same as it’s always been. But some of the preload look a little rough. Lol. That’s our future drivers. Our center manager really don’t care. Our pkg cars are falling apart and unsafe but all he cares about is his stupid numbers. If anyone tries to question him he just yells at them and doesn’t listen. Glad I’m almost outa here !!!🍻🍻🍻

Pre load aren’t our future, though. 90% of them will never aim for higher than a hub rat.

Sorry, but I don’t care anymore.
Maybe we aren’t so different.
Probably not. I’m retiring next month. I’m not ashamed to say that it bothers me to see the standards lowered. The job is tough no doubt, but I took pride in it. And I represented a company that gave me a good living, allowing me to give my family a nice home, a good education to my son and a pension for myself. I know times change, but it’s no excuse to look like a slob. It will come back to bite you in the ass.

You and I are singing the same song in a different key. Enjoy your retirement, brother. You’ve earned it.

You know what I hear from citizens when I tell them that I am a retired UPS driver?

"What happened to your people?"

people are noticing and will be making decisions based on these negative impressions.

We were the elite. It was special to work for UPS. We were admired, trusted, envied. I knew drivers that shop keepers gave the keys to the shop to so they could put the packages inside when they weren’t there. It’s slipping away.

What decisions? Are they going to amazon? FedEx? Both are irrevocably unprofessional. I agree with you, but professionalism across the board is a dying breed.

This whole country appears to be lowering it's standards.

Reminds me of the movie Idiocracy.
