Agree and disagree. Package never wore “suits”. But this is your livelihood, if it is. Treat it as such.

I was making a generational reference, and never said anything about package wearing suits. It wasn't too long ago that it was considered unprofessional to not be in a suit in many professional fields, no matter the weather, which is very, very stupid. People who think that way have no credibility as far as I'm concerned.

The fact is we are working class, not professional class. We should look like we are ready to work. Pressed, crisp uniforms and wingtips aren't appropriate for the job. And I really don't care what anyone else thinks my hair should look like, or whether I have visible tattoos.

Right. You are working class. You are the backbone of this country. I don’t care what either side calls you. If you are providing for your family and as honestly as you can, then you have my utmost respect.

Sorry, but I don’t care anymore.

What are you talking about? A clean un wrinkled uniform, neat hair and clean boots were standard. If you were trained that way you followed it. Slobs have no pride I guess.

I take pride in my work. I am comfortable with my appearance, and I get complimented regularly on my beard. Other people's standards don't concern me.

Where is the pride?
You all should be ashamed of yourselves.

Tats, nose rings, lip rings, ear rings, scraggy beards and hair, shirt tails hanging out, dirty uniforms and shoes.......

a couple years from now the company will allow drinking and drugs just to fill the ranks.

Looking like this affects your self esteem. Your life will suffer in the long term.

Keep clean.
Uniforms clean and pressed
Have some pride in your job.

Just because what's her name and the company doesnt give a flying friend anymore doesnt mean you have to lower yourself
to THEIR low standards.

Champions in life set their own high standards and always strive to exceed them.
Amazon does openly accept drug users, and they are not experiencing any labor shortage.

We were the elite. It was special to work for UPS. We were admired, trusted, envied. I knew drivers that shop keepers gave the keys to the shop to so they could put the packages inside when they weren’t there. It’s slipping away.
The shop owners also knew who their driver is. Now it's a different driver all of the time because dispatch sup has to make his numbers.
I had keys to stores, numbers to combination locks for home based business garages, leave me cash for a COD.
They had total trust in my honesty and professionalism. We were the standard. Now UPS is just another half-assed
delivery company

Imagine being such a boomer you think the way a person looks defines who they are.
