I really hate giving people advice on how to invest their money. Too many variables and not everyone has the same risk tolerance.
If they ask for it, I'll give it to them. Fairly a safe investmentI really hate giving people advice on how to invest their money. Too many variables and not everyone has the same risk tolerance.
I just encourage them to save.
At the same time you don't want to discourage someone by a bad market. Go back a decade. Put everything in the S&P and two years later you got slaughtered. If they ask for it, I'll give it to them. Fairly a safe investment
Everything did, and it all rebounded. Playing in the market assumes some sort of risk.At the same time you don't want to discourage someone by a bad market. Go back a decade. Put everything in the S&P and two years later you got slaughtered.
It does. But it can discourage many from staying in the market. If you can't sleep at night with your allocation, it's not right for you.Everything did, and it all rebounded. Playing in the market assumes some sort of risk.
It is a relatively safe investment, a benchmark. It does. But it can discourage many from staying in the market. If you can't sleep at night with your allocation, it's not right for you.
Depends when you get in. The market is near it's all time high and the PE is very high.It is a relatively safe investment, a benchmark.

Maybe some of it, not all of it. What about international? Much lower PE ratio. So you want to time the market? S&P is a good first investment.
Probably won't put enough to split, doubt they'll put that much in. International is riskier than S&P.Maybe some of it, not all of it. What about international? Much lower PE ratio.
