710, 705?

Very professional website----much better than ours (687).

Two things concerned me:

1. Retiree healthcare capped at $50/month until all contracts are settled. Does this mean that they could jack up their rates once 710 settles their contract?

2. What is this 2 hour (now 90 minute) gap time review?

I've met guys (rank and file) from 710, Upsers. We went over and picketted a Ups center in 97. They came out and were happy to see us. My question is, has no strike clause ever changed in any of your proposals

The retiree's co-pay will go, just stays the same till the contract passes. The 2 hour gap applies to 22-3 jobs, when to separate shifts are combined to create a full time position. Question is how are the improvements in your pension benefits and whether you guys are going into the enhanced teamcare coverages?

Oh Yeah
And next contract they will push for the salary cap on new drivers like they proposed on this contract. They wont get it but the union will cave in again and give them the 5 year progression. And once again idiots will vote yes on another garbage contract.

Completely agree. Don't forget continued record profits too.

I'll be voting no. I can't find much to complain about with the Teamcare provisions themselves, though the vision portion seems like a downgrade. Even a partial downgrade when the company has been doing gangbusters is unacceptable. That and the raises are fairly anemic.

You may as well vote "yes" because the IBT will impose the contract if it is voted down.

The IBT won't impose it on them after the first NO vote.
With that kind of thinking how fast did you guys in NY sell your soul?

Our supplement was voted down on the first try. The company wanted 4 x 10's for feeders and to limit the movement between package and feeders. It passed easily once they took those two provisions out.

So your statement contradicts what took place in your local yet it's your advice for another?

With their recent history I don't see the IBT showing a whole of patience with repeated "no" votes.

The contract was only imposed on those at an outright stalemate after numerous no votes and implications of work stoppage. 705 has only gotten to the tentative agreement stage. They are far from having it imposed on them.
