Also some supplements if they call out on Tuesday they would loose the holiday pay for Monday. So they have a regular work schedule this week and they still loose holiday pay if they call out lol

Probably not gonna happen because they don’t have enough staffing.Hopefully they eliminate drivers volunteering for 6 days a week
What are they going to do during peak?
We usually only have 2 or 3 drivers volunteer for Saturdays
My local has a no forced 6th day. UPS paid double time for the Saturday volunteers. The volunteers got the dispatch they wanted, as if they got buried they wouldn't volunteer anymore.
Give me double time and I'll work every Saturday during peak
Unless the weather is crappy.

Here you just have to have "monies earned" in the week to get it, I could call in tomorrow and take three dead days. I'd still get paid for today because my sick day is monies earned.

We used to have incandescent light bulbs.
etc. etc.
The competition delivers on the weekends. We have to keep up with the competition. It is a fact of life. Weekends are here to stay, and it is up to the Teamsters to negotiate the weekend schedules, not to stop them from delivering on the weekends.

That is the reality. I do believe everyone deserves two days off a week which this contract seems to be able to afford. But they did not fix Tuesday through Saturday people getting the extra day off for holiday
at least in the central.
It sucks but they won't be Tuesday through Saturday forever

Has Saturday ground really made any difference? Mondays are a disaster with not enough work for some drivers and others covering 3 or 4 routes.

The reality is it would be impossible to manage our system with 25%+ of your drivers and sort off to observe a holiday on a Tuesday.
Maybe they could offer them a day off in the middle of the week by seniority?
