Antisemitism

I mostly hate the faith.
There are some believers I hate.

Isn’t that what you people say? Hate the sin not the sinner? Hate the belief, not the believer.
It is a denial of reality and irrational.
That's not what I say. God can hate sinners if He wants to. He often abandons those who are in obstinate sin and gives them over to Satan. There is only so much grace that can be given.

You’re just a Christian apologist who picks and chooses from the faith without regard of how it is applied in the real world by the faithful. Ignoring history, ignoring their ignorance, ignoring the racism, ignoring the homophobia and putting on rose color glasses to paint a picture of a faith of love and peace.
History has seen how this reality denying irrational nonsense plays out when sponsored and endorsed by governments. It isn’t good.
the Church was the most progressive institution for over 1000 years until the Enlightenment passed it by; much of the "bad" attributed to Christians was usually done by a monarchy while they ignored the Church whining at them

anyways, none of those things were bad in context, nor were they uncommon or unreciprocated

And the monarchies were not Christian?
What was the basis of the monarchy’s rule?
Oh the church was just this great moral arbiter stuck on the side lines?

Do you see what I’m saying by rose colored glasses?

  1. they were as long as it didn't interfere with their sovereign interests; when it did, the Church was pushed aside
  2. military power, as always
  3. that's not at all what i said

Monarchies, though the best form of government, are flawed. They should've listened to the Pope! Probably wouldn't be so deep into the leftist singularity rn if we did. Wrong freakin side won ww2.

I still don’t think Christianity was that important honestly.
Just because you choose to rationalize your morality through a Christian lens doesn’t mean it changes your human nature or instincts. All Christians do is instead of standing on their own authority and rationalizations they try to hide behind a cross and claim that is what god thinks.
They still operate in a realm of moral relativism similar to the pagans with no clear concrete absolute morality given by god.

you know, whether or not the west would have been better off without christianity is a whole other discussion, and i'm vaguely in that camp, but when you say something like this you just cant be taken seriously

Well yeah Christianity obviously had an impact on the west. There is no denying that.
My post is discussing the individual and how they interpret their drives, reasoning, morals, etc.. I do not think Christianity did much to change individual’s human nature at all. I don’t really think it matter how you interpret your animalistic drives or how you rationalize them.
It comes down to an individual’s reasoning capabilities.

If you want more moral human beings I think the biggest boon to them is education, clear minds and a safe environment. Not religion.

People like to act like civil society and human morality just sprang out of Jesus’s ass, but that isn’t true at all.
The Christian societies we’re a huge step back from the Roman and even Greek societies.

well that's not a christianity argument, that's an argument that all religion doesn't affect human drives

again, while religions influence may be overblown, belief in some kind of religious system is innately human, whether you call it christianity, paganism, atheism, socialism, climate change, etc.

to try separating it out and say "yeah that's what did it" is kinda futile
