in probably our third week now with these in our pc's and no one has seen a red flashing light yet. over the course of the first week i wasn't sure they were activated inside the cab, now i'm not even sure they are activated yet on the road facing side.

we'll see. today we left the building around 9:10 and within ten minutes of being on the interstate there was a collision a few miles north, closing down all four lanes of north bound traffic. there were at least a dozen of our pc's ahead and behind me going north all stopped in traffic, hundreds of nda just sitting at a stand still. i pressed the blue button to see if it would record the road shut down in front of me, i had 10 nda stops and if i sat in that traffic there was no way i was getting to the first one. after pushing the button to record the scene in front of me i pulled over into the toll road lanes and drove two miles north of my intended exit and turned around to start delivering. got everything off in time.

They can watch me break route for water, wash hands, bathroom breaks. Also sort truck on the clock, take lunch breaks. In addition look around truck for seq numbers. Gaze upon my paid breaks, handtruck for smallest items.

After playing with mine for about 2 weeks

1. Cab camera “event triggers”. Are still not active. Iv been drinking and driving, whipeing my face, reaching around, no red lights

2. The road mounted triggers are active. Roll through a stop and the it will trigger an event. Stop hard enough and it will trigger an event

iv been creating events by “accidentally” stopping hard at stop signs or delivery stops, you know…. Just to make sure the on roads and center managers have 10-20 clips just from me to look at per day.

They can turn off the red lights for in-cab events and still be recording or streaming. The manufacturer says the lights can be set for "training" ...letting you know you did something reviewable; or they can turn off the lights and run it in "stealth mode".

Those who were working when they installed the gps will remember how they lied ( and why language was added about successor tech after gps).

They told us it was not active...lie.

They said it wouldn't track in real time...lie

They said it wouldn't be used for discipline...lie

Just like telematics was just for the mechanics.

"These technologies use data that’s been gathered on fatigue-related behaviors to analyze eye movement, gaze patterns, yawning, head position, and body movements. By monitoring all these factors, the systems can detect signs of decreased attention and drowsiness. If a driver appears fatigued or distracted, the programs can alert the driver with a sound or using vibration. The systems can also notify analysts and fleet managers about incidents of distraction and fatigue"

Sleep study anyone?

What this really means is they can tell if you’re on drugs.

Maybe they can monitor jacked up loads and stop counts. Also stress from leaving building late. Punch a code on it and report dispatch over 9.5. Speak to it to report dispatch over 8.0 day.
