tos, the only way to stop people from using illegal drugs is to completely stop the flow of such drugs, thus one removes the profit ability of the drug importers. No profits = no products.
Since the 60's this country has been at war with drugs, and yet the problem remains.
Close the border, tightly and watch the drug suppliers go away.

Won't do much. You never watched any of those drug smuggling docs, esspecially into Florida ?
They have homebuilt submarines, remote controlled helicopters/planes, or fly overs with real ones.
They built tunnels, hide stashes in semi-trucks, they swallow it, and many more ways.

Then you have some crooked cops, boarder control officers, and military personal.
Most of the Opium/Heroin in the US comes from Afghanistan, which border do you want to close there ?

I know, I know.
Let's pass some more laws making it illegal to have or use drugs.
It's the same policy that the gov't uses for guns , so it's a sure fire solution.

Mexican Police Find Ten Decapitated Bodies
Mexican Police Find Ten Decapitated Bodies

(NewsCore) – TORREON, Mexico — Mexican police in the northern city of Torreon said Saturday they found the headless bodies of seven men and three women in the back of an abandoned pickup truck.
Police chief Guillermo Flores said that only one head, belonging to a woman, was found on site, and that the killers had placed it on the truck’s hood.
The pickup truck was parked on a highway that goes around Torreon, a city where two major highways heading north to the United States converge.
Mexico has been plagued by a massive crime wave in recent years, with some 37,000 people killed in battles among rival drug cartels and between traffickers and security forces since 2006, when the government launched a military crackdown.

Bad Saturday in Mexico — 40 Dead in 24 Hours
At least 40 killed in 24 hours in areas disputed by drug cartels in Mexico

MEXICO CITY — Fighting among the Zetas gang and other vicious drug cartels led to the deaths of more than 40 people whose bodies were found in three Mexican cities over a 24-hour span, a government official said Saturday.
At least 20 people were killed and five injured when gunmen opened fire in a bar late Friday in the northern city of Monterrey, where the gang is fighting its former ally, the Gulf Cartel, said federal security spokesman Alejandro Poire.
Eleven bodies shot with high-powered rifles were found earlier Friday, piled near a water well on the outskirts of Mexico City, where the gang is fighting the Knights Templar, Poire said. That is an offshoot of the La Familia gang that has terrorized its home state of Michoacan.

Border Patrol agents prosecuted to appease Mexico
Tom Tancredo
Another Border Patrol agent on the southwest border is facing a long prison sentence for doing his job. Isn’t it amazing how this happens only on the southwest border and never the Canadian border?
Veteran agent Jesus Diaz faces a sentence of five to 25 years in federal prison for “mistreating” an illegal alien who was apprehended crossing the border near Eagle Pass, Texas, in 2008. The man was handcuffed, and allegedly, Diaz lifted his handcuffs to force him to the ground because he was not cooperative. For this “offense” Diaz was prosecuted by U.S. attorney for the West Texas region, Johnny Sutton, and convicted and will be sentenced in September.
Diaz’s “victim,” who was carrying a backpack with 50 pounds of marijuana at the time, was subsequently given a visa and is free to enter and leave the U.S. any time he chooses.

11 Bodies Found on Outskirts of Mexico City

MEXICO CITY (AP) — The bodies of 10 men and a woman who had been shot with high-powered rifles were found Friday scattered near a water well on the outskirts of Mexico City, authorities said.
Another man was found alive and taken to a hospital, said Antonio Ortega, a spokesman for the Mexico State police. He said some of the bodies were blindfolded and had their hands tied.
State officials said police found another body nearby a few hours later but could not confirm it was related to the mass attack.
Ortega said he didn’t know if the victims were shot at the scene or dumped at the site in Valle de Chalco on the eastern edge of Mexico City.

Monterrey Massacre Comes Amid Gulf-Zetas Battles
Monterrey Massacre Comes Amid Gulf-Zetas Battles

Written by Patrick Corcoran

The slaughter of at least 20 people in a Monterrey bar is another violent manifestation of the ongoing battle for control of this north Mexico city, a vital link in the drug trade.
As Milenio reports, two trucks full of assault rifle-toting gunmen arrived at the Sabino Gordo bar late Friday night, and opened fire in the crowded establishment. State authorities say that the primary targets in the attack were employees, many of whom hid beneath the tables as the shooting started. As many as 18 of those killed worked at Sabino Gordo.

Because of the location of the attack, speculation about who was responsible centered on the Gulf Cartel and the Zetas, both of whom have a strong presence in Monterrey, the nation’s third-largest city.

Fence at U.S./Mexico border is Cut

Fence at U.S./Mexico border is cut

By Derek Jordan
Herald/Review
NACO —
A section of the border fence was damaged east of Naco recently, a series of photos from a resident living near the damaged area shows.
Richard Hodges, who owns land east of Naco, said he was checking his fence line with his wife when he saw a U.S. Border Patrol agent along the fence in a wash, and behind him a large gap in the fence where several of the concrete-filled steel beams had been brought down.
“They took a torch, and right at ground level, cut the pipes. All five of them,” Hodges said. “Then, when they were ready to go through, they took a strap probably, and pulled it backwards. The concrete snapped right at the ground.”
Photos submitted by Hodges show at least 12 of the pipes laying on the ground, creating a space wide enough for a vehicle to pass through, he said.
Border Patrol Agent Colleen Agle confirmed that there was a cut in the fence east of Naco, but could not say when it was first reported or what the dimensions of the cut were.
This was the worst damage to the re-enforced steel fence that Hodges had ever seen, he said.
“I’ve never seen the new (fence) destroyed at all,” he said

While Mexican President tells American tourists not to worry about the violence and USAToday runs stories about how the violence in Mexico is overblown, we see the reality through the day-to-day life.
Keep in mind that this all occurred on Monday, the weekend was even worse!

Amnesty Costs American Jobs
Amnesty costs jobs

By Rep. Lamar Smith
(R-Texas)

Millions of Americans are looking for work. The federal government is borrowing 43 cents on every dollar it spends. And the economy is dragging along the bottom. Incredibly, and contrary to common sense, some argue that granting amnesty to millions of illegal immigrants will solve all our problems and create jobs, increase revenues and boost the economy. But their claims are built on a foundation of sand.
Caught in a flimsy web of fiction, amnesty supporters confuse illegal immigrants with legal immigrants. We should encourage immigration by highly skilled legal immigrants. But those highly skilled workers aren’t illegal immigrants. They have played by the rules, waited their turn in line and came to the U.S. legally on visas.
While highly skilled legal immigrants contribute to the American economy, illegal immigrants do the opposite. Nonpartisan economists have determined that illegal immigrants are a fiscal drain on American taxpayers. That’s because a majority of illegal immigrants have less than a high school education and earn well below average incomes.

US Court Documents Claim Sinaloa “Cartel” Is Protected by US Government
Deal Allegedly Gave Sinaloa Bosses Immunity in Exchange for Providing Info on Rival Drug Organizations
By Bill Conroy
The Narcosphere

The son of a heavy hitter in a powerful Mexican drug trafficking organization has filed explosive legal pleadings in federal court in Chicago accusing the US government of cutting a deal with the the “Sinaloa Cartel” that gave its leadership “carte blanche to continue to smuggle tons of illicit drugs into Chicago and the rest of the United States.”
The source of that allegation is Jesus Vicente Zambada Niebla, the son of Ismael “El Mayo” Zambada Garcia — one of the purported top leaders of the Sinaloa drug-trafficking organization — a major Mexican-based importer of weapons and exporter of drugs.
