You talk about getting your news on the internet.... Well this is a prime example of a slanted story. The version of the story posted leaves out the fact that the ad states at the end of the commercial - "Support Joe Arpaio for re-election in 2012". You can bad mouth Joe Arpaio all you want but he is extremely no nonsense and will use every ounce of his authority to carry out his duties and responsibilities and he will not back down to any liberal or uber-liberal and you better be ready for a fight.

Joe Arpaio is a hero to most of the population in Arizona! It is funny how he keeps getting re-elected every four years by landslide victories AND he is in one the the counties with a more liberal voting block. He reminds me of what the wild west stood for in developing this part of the country. There are quite a few modern era AZ sheriffs who are more articulate but just as courageous as old Joe. His policies won't be going away anytime soon. Arizona and Texas are the last remnants of the wild west.

Maybe that day is coming. I am still a landowner in CA. Years ago I couldn't understand how anyone could want to live anywhere else than SoCal. We had everything. (Beaches-Dessert-Mountains, etc) and probably some of the best all round weather anywhere in the world.... I am almost afraid to say that things have reached the tipping point. But I am an optimist. I think things can shift the other direction once again. It just takes the right leadership to make it happen.

I have in the past been told that I look Peurto Rican, Columbian, and Nicaraguan though I am not of Latino heritage and have always been a citizen of the United States. If in Arizona and I'm being stopped for looking like I may be an illegal where is my constitutional guarantee against unreasonable search and seizure? And here in the great melting pot I am certainly not alone. The fact is this law is doomed to failure in Federal court sooner rather than later.

The law is about all illegals, however there is no getting around that fact that the vast majority of illegals come here from Mexico. The geographic proximity of the two countries is the reason so much attention is directed to illegals from Mexico, that's a no brainer.
