Have Feeders drivers worked the HUB for months in the past ?

Something fishy is going on at my local and I’m really getting tired of having to work trailers, I didn’t sign up for this.

To the OP: Anything you "work at" and make money while you are supposed to be off for 10 hours is a crime. Federal.

Did you read the part about him working inside.... and not driving a feeder ?

Lying to 36 new hires and saying they will have tons of work for off the streets is wrong also. Having 36 FEEDER drivers sweeping trailers and picking up pallets and trash off the ground, are not even getting a call at all for months at a time is crazy to me. I been had my 31 punches and pass my 90 days now so I have the option to pass on HUB as many times as I I want. If it’s a WAD job then of course I have to come in but that’s only on Friday.

I highly doubt they’ll just find work out of nowhere for all 36 drivers cause a UPS deal for a certain local fell through with sleeper teams. It’s not my concern and I could care less what UPS think about me finding other ways to pay my bills. At the end of the day they don’t care if my bills get paid, I don’t see nothing wrong with starting a business on the side.

Here we go....

I will agree to your statement....to some extent.

It is UPS's business. You sign documents and complete training to such. No? Yeah ya do. Not signing the documents doesn't mean you didn't do the training. Yes, I'm aware of all the excuses and possibilities in court. They can get you a hundred different ways. But dishonesty would get you canned permanently.

No? Say, you have an accident and kill someone.....and through discovery it is found out you had this "side hustle".....

Company policy would really be the least of your worries as it is Federal now. No? Ask the Walmart driver who killed a bus full of college students(a few anyway). One is enough. It is possible jail time and an unlimited liability... Hell, you could get sued by UPS....

To the OP: Anything you "work at" and make money while you are supposed to be off for 10 hours is a crime. Federal.

Oddly, you could "volunteer" 24/7 and never sleep and come to work. But make one cent and you've violated.....

No? UPS would cut you loose so fast.....then your State, Federal....imagine being that Fed-Ex ground truck in the Texas 130 car ice pile up. You know the one that is in every picture....They announced lawsuits the same day.....what will they find....?

Am I scared? No. Do I respect the law? You bet. DO I want to keep my job? You bet.

.
@quad decade guy hit the nail on the head. Those are all real life scenarios

of course there’s factors as to what kind of business it is, if it runs itself (I.e. vacation rentals, Amazon FBA seller etc.) whether or not you have to invest hours every week that is taking away from sleep

But let’s get down to brass tacks: if you get into an accident, UPS will waive au revoir to you, business owner or not. You’re in feeders, ask @Yeet @Maple Grove MN Driver or @Covemastah if they know of any tier accident where the driver kept his job.

Cool. Proceed at your peril.....

You don't see "nothing wrong".......UPS, DOT and the State does......

Carry on...

Imagine getting your foot in the door to the best position at UPS, hired off the street ahead of people who have put years and years in to the company, and complaining because you have to clean some pallets to get your guaranteed 8. Boo freaking hoo...

Yeah. During the recession in 2008 they sent the bottom 10% of of our feeder drivers with seniority back to the hub. I remember working in the hub loading/unloading trailers for almost a year

Yep. I had 25 full time years and a snot nose off the street hire got hired at another hub(then followed work) and hired right in front of me.

The OP is in for some misery. But his greatest threat is himself....

Yeah they’ll flip the dolly and chain the front to the legs. Then they tow it using the dolly as rear wheels. It’s weird

They'll do this when something happens to the rear axle (bearings locked up, broken springs, etc.) and they can't tow it from the front.

Use the dolly as the axle and tow it from the rear.
