We were told not to do that because it can pinch or cause holes rendering it useless if needed. And when not using pintle , we put hose through it without cry babies taking pics of it for Facebook

No, they're not looped long enough for that. And if it were, that would just be silly. No one has seen the slide lock come open and allow the flapper to release. The spring loaded slide lock would have to magically slide over, then the donut would have to force the flapper past the friction lock on the slide lock. It's not happening. If you're so concerned about it, put the pin in from the other side and let the tether maintain it.Those zip ties may be used to loop over the angled handle of the pintle hook latch to offer some assurance the pin doesn't vibrate out.
Have I seen pins that have vibrated/worked their way out? Yes.
Have I seen donuts that have come off the hook while the truck is going own the road? Yes.
It's kinda like putting zip ties on the corner latches of container trailers.
Is several zip ties and 5 minutes to put them on worth it?
Draw your own conclusions......
Thanks. That was quite helpful. No, they're not looped long enough for that. And if it were, that would just be silly. No one has seen the slide lock come open and allow the flapper to release. But again, that's not what these are doing since they're not long enough.
Being helpful is something I learned from a very helpful chap on this very BC.Thanks. That was quite helpful.

I had to build my sets half the time I took them out of DENCO. Lazy POS's.A sleeper driver building a set….
Then you haven't seen me have to build a set when the lazy yardbirds can't be bothered to do their jobs.No idea. I've never seen a sleeper try to cowboy into a rear trailer before.
These yardbirds part timers or actual feeder drivers? Most part timers are lazy af....a few of the feeder drivers are lazy af, usually find them sleeping in a corner and yard control is yelling to everyone on the radio if they've seen so and so.Then you haven't seen me have to build a set when the lazy yardbirds can't be bothered to do their jobs.
True. Always bugs me when Package guys don't wave. WTF is wrong with them? Won't wave to your brother, smh..I stopped waving , they never wave back

It's an inside job.
I saw a team doing that a few months ago. He was way off on the alignment and kept trying. I watched for about 10 mins before I detoured around themNo idea. I've never seen a sleeper try to cowboy into a rear trailer before.

All ft. Feeder drivers here also. IMO if a building has more than 1 or 2 shifters then they should be feeder drivers.Local 25 Boston , all of our guys are feeder drivers , in chema some are and some are Ft shifters not CDL or TTQ
