Right after the 9/11 attacks, Clear Channel sent a memo to all the stations they owned with a list of songs that they deemed "lyrically questionable". Pretty much anything that had a reference flying, falling, fire, or death and a bunch others that were kinda stupid. While they insisted it wasn't an outright ban per say, they discouraged airplay of the songs from this list for quite some time.
