I believe it. years ago in Oakland, CA they had weekly drawings for TV's , stereos, and other prizes if you worked everyday that week.
not sure how well that worked. don't think that lasted very long. people just don't want to do hard work anymore. a beggar with a sign can make hundreds of dollars a day.
I live in a resort town and a couple weeks ago a guy, his wife , and 3 kids , held up a sign saying out of work and need rent money. I spoke to him and found out he was an illegal but gave him money anyway because of the kids.
a couple days later I stopped and asked him how it was going. he told me they collected over 700 dollars. why work? and why work for UPS?
