Brown Cafe Cruise Thread

As you can see I've deleted some posts.

I would like to keep this thread focused on the BrownCafe Cruise II, some of the other posts in my opinion have been taking away from our ultimate goal of organizing a cruise again next year.

Klein, if you or others have vacation deals that do not pertain to our specific goal of organizing a cruise for next summer then please do not post them here. I think the suggestion of starting a vacation/deal thread is a good one but I don't want to use this thread for that!

Personally I get many deals/promotions emailed to me each week (cash back, on board credits, discounts etc) as Cheryl and I've been on many cruises and I don't post them here because they don't pertain to this specific cruise..And when the time comes we will do everything possible to see that we're getting a good value which includes input from anyone and everyone reading this thread..

This is not to say we don't want to hear about other cruiser's or cruising experiences, we definitely encourage that!:happy2:

So....lets see if we can stay on topic with cruise information pertaining to this cruise....

Thanks!

Here is the million dollar question then :

Are you folks willing to pay $600 + per couple more to cruise during summer vacation time (july/august), or would you rather save that expense and cruise before mid June or after September ?

Uh...yeah. Tony is our point man on this. He has cruised a lot with Cheryl and knows of what he speaks. I appreciate your enthusiasm in trying to find the best deal.

I think you guys should set up an open cruise poll (that shows the names when voted) Kinda like this:

Which time of year in 2011 is best for you to be part of BC Cruise II :
(please only vote if you're going to join the cruise)!!

Jan - March (I'ld like to escape the winter months)

April - mid June ( Spring worked great last time)

mid June - beginning of Sept ( can only go during summer holidays, but realize it's 35-40% more in price)

mid Sept - November ( I like fall, and need a break before peak)

Cape Canaveral, I believe they have Nasa Tours/ Museums there.... Very interessting.

It's on Norwegian Cruiselines , too (1 of the upper scale ones).

Yes on your Port Canaveral information but Norwegian is nowhere near an upper scale line
NCL, RCL and CCL are all considered mass marketing cruise lines. Not a lot difference in any of them.

Klein....if you can post all these posts of great deals and yadda yadda...you can put them in a thread of your own.

Hey, trplnkl, I'm just trying to help them out and reconsider going in July.
Go back to Tony's posting, (post # 364), with prices for July 2011.
$1300 - $1400 per balcony, that does not include port fees or any taxes, making it closer to $1700 - $1800 per person.
There is no more $800 deal out there that time of year !

Plus hotel fees, and most likely flights, are priced higher during summer break.

It's a lot of Mula, that will definitly hold a few back that wanted to go, but couldn't for those prices.

PS : Yeah, was just comparing NCL to Carnival. And NCL is a step up from there, but like you said... just like the others.

Tony, I'd give you some rep points if I could. Personally, I have quit reading this thread, for the most part, because I'm freaking tired of reading Klein's posts. Everything that he posts is all about him. I have posted little because I will not be going on the next cruise. Maybe Klein should just stay out of this thread since, as far as I know, he will not be going on the this cruise either.

Hey KOC I kinda like that 1st one with the $1029 balcony!!:wink2:
Me too Tony. This one has nice ports, although I did enjoy the Days at Sea, the ports are places that most of us would never get to see if not for doing a cruise.
The Valor, IMO, was a wonderful ship, good service and lots to do on board(even though the piano bar player sucked). I enjoyed all the ports on that itinerary. but Belize isn't a place I am jumping to see again.
