PVDs are going no where. The only things that will happen is they will finally put language about them in the contract.Have to give something up to get rid of those PVD’s
@MECH-lift never works under 8!!!!!Ok..
@MECH-lift When done with work send DIAD message saying you're done and want your 8 hour guarantee. When they send you home anyways. Ask for DIAD messages and then file grievance if they don't pay you 8 hours.

I would never suggest giving something for nothing.Well I hope you get something good negotiated for that
Or do you suggest just letting them have PVDs
What did we get for 22.4 language? No more Saturday work for RPCD? No more 9.5 violations?I would never suggest giving something for nothing.
I'll say it again. What did we get for 22.4 language? No more Saturday work for RPCD? No more 9.5 violations?
Wally blushed at thatLook at your contract. When does the seasonal period start?
Also what would you like to do about it Wally? Strike?
They say jump, you say how highWe're told to shut up if we know what's good for us.
Why is the union allowing PVD's before Thanksgiving anyway?
Each and every full timer has one thing in common. We all are guaranteed 8hrs of “pay”. It’s important to know the difference, as we are not guaranteed 8hrs of “work”, just 8hrs of “pay”.This morning the supervisors were begging drivers to take the day off work. There were so many routes cut because they're giving all of the work to the pvds and there ended up being extra drivers without routes. They had to give some of us pvd routes but then they stated that we couldn't get our 8 hour guarantee and once we were done we had to go home. Our Steward doesn't seem to be helpful and was wanting to come here to ask advice from you guys on how to proceed.
No helpers or PVD's before Thanksgiving or after Christmas. They are not needed anyway.PVDs are going no where. The only things that will happen is they will finally put language about them in the contract.
What did your Steward say? This morning the supervisors were begging drivers to take the day off work. Very stressful job. I had to get out, so I retired.$40/hr janitor.
I would argue pvds are not even in the contract.
They get to start same time as seasonal drivers, which is 1.5 months before helpers can be used... makes no sense.
I read most of the UPS union contract/book last night out of curiosity. There is a provision that allows UPS to use non UPS employees at times of only November and December and under those times RPCD are not guaranteed 40.
Section continues stating 22.4 and 22.2 sub sections of contract also. May be wrong I'm not a lawyer.
They earn every Penny of the $40/hr.Very stressful job. I had to get out, so I retired.
Had 3 PVD routes implemented on the preload this morning. Definitely wasn't due to volume but thinking it was lack of drivers. Why is the union allowing PVD's before Thanksgiving anyway?
