Working together at UPS is not what mgt wants nor the hourlies apparently. And I've been doing this LONGER than

some have been alive let alone worked at UPS.

Teamwork...at UPS? At the union hall? Laughable. It's more....who gets to go to Vegas baby!

Show by example how to work safely and properly? You are just shunned and belittled.

You learn to do your job as safely and productively as possible with what tools and equipment you are given.

The rest will work out or not.

offering sound advice is always noble. those who receive it are largely unknown because thousands more folks read the posting than post so worrying about effectiveness of truth and wisdom spoken to many isn't my job. telling correct info is everyone's responsibility. trashing other people because your local sucks is short-sighted and childish. fix what you can, never give up, and people in your facility will listen to you, some applying what they hear, and others continuing to scoff at the problem when the real problem is some don't have the spine to lead on their own.

I agree, but what about our lawmakers changing the borrowing standards, loan to value, loan to debt and money down. I had relatives buy a house in 2003 with no money down on a 5 year balloon. The standards were ridiculous.

I hear UPS will make up the difference for it's people who retired 2008 and on. I did not get a letter stating this but one of my former co-workers did . He retired in 2010 and I retired in 2012 . If true we're good. If I were still working I would max out my 401k because union pensions are not looking good

Q: Does UPS still have to guarantee that a member who retires under Central States and the UPS/IBT Full-time Pension Plan gets a full pension if Central States has to cut benefits?

A: Yes that provision in Article 34 Section 1(l)(6) is unchanged. If Central States has to cut retirement benefits at some time in the future, UPS remains obligated to provide current and future retirees with a benefit from the UPS/IBT Full-time Pension Plan that matches what a member would have received if Central States provided the full benefit the member earned

I never worked a day under Central States as a full timer and I’m still worried about my pension. I simply don’t trust UPS or the Teamsters. That’s why I contribute to my 401k and have other income that will potentially get me a small pension.

They cashed out a couple life insurance policies and refinanced into a conventional mortgage.
