"Big Fella"
Taken from Bill Riley's Message of the Day

Many Americans believe their country is going to hell, and it's hard to refute that. The internet has changed social mores, our leadership is mediocre at best, corrupt at worst, and personal narcissism is rising fast.

Plus, there's deep political division among the people.

The United States was forged using Judeo-Christian philosophy as a baseline. So what exactly is that? I can't fault any American for not knowing because the public school system has largely banished "J-C ethics" from the classroom.

Well, time to get out your notepad.

In researching my upcoming book "Killing the Witches," we found that the brutal religious-based murders in Salem had a profound influence on the Constitution. Franklin, Jefferson, and Madison fought against any definition of the new America as a "Christian" nation, while Patrick Henry and others wanted that description in writing.

Ben, Thomas, and Jemmy won the debate, but it was close. However, the brilliant secularists well understood that democracy would not survive unless there was a clear vision of "justice for all."

That's when Judeo-Christian philosophy kicked in, the concept of right and wrong based on the Ten Commandments. If you dispute that, visit the Supreme Court building in Washington, where a sculpture of Moses and the Commandments dominates the ground floor.

In a 1983 case, the Supremes found that state legislatures could pay a "chaplain" to conduct prayers "in the Judeo-Christian tradition."

Today, J-C tenets are under massive assault from the progressive left, which controls the President of the United States. The primary reason is moral judgments about abortion and "alternative" lifestyles, plus the fact that following any kind of "higher power" diminishes the influence of the state. Stalin, Mao, Hitler, Pol Pot, et al., all persecuted religious faith. That continues to this day in totalitarian regimes.

In America, the corporate media largely sides with progressives and casts deep suspicion on religious expression. The indefensible child abuse crimes committed by some Catholic clergy have devastated Christian influence.

A recent study out of the University of Chicago indicates Judeo-Christian ethics are absolutely under siege in the USA. Thirty-four percent of Americans never attend religious services, the highest number ever recorded.

The decline of theology in the U.S. is apparent. Those identifying as Evangelical Protestants have fallen from 23 percent in 2006 to just 14 percent today. Catholics have sunk from 16 percent of the population to 13 percent, despite millions of new migrants who come from Catholic cultures.

The result of the secular intrusion is vividly apparent. In many places, laws are not enforced, and criminals are not punished. Intoxication is encouraged (legalized pot, acceptance of public hard drug use), people of faith are openly mocked on social media, and attacks on churches, like the L.A. Dodgers honoring an anti-Catholic group, are largely ignored by the corporate media.

Presiding over all this is Joe Biden, a weekly Catholic mass attendee. But instead of embracing Judeo-Christian tenets such as all life is sacred and the rule of law must be upheld if "justice" is to prevail, Biden rejects that and strives to make things like abortion and illegal entry to this country easy.

The result is a kind of brutal anarchy that once held sway in Salem, Massachusetts. Emboldened criminals kill thousands of innocents each year. Abortion on demand for any reason destroys thousands of unborn in places like California and New York.

Fearful of his far-left base, Mr. Biden, like Pontius Pilate, washes his hands of any responsibility.

The Founders well understood the dangers of imposed theology. But, equally, they knew that the elimination of right and wrong would severely damage this Republic.

And that's what is happening.

Christian missionaries and their followers have been forcing their crap on others for centuries while wiping out the religious beliefs of the indigenous populations. Yet they got the gall to cry foul when their beliefs are attacked. Bunch of :censored2:ing hypocrites.

Don’t forget about feeding them, clothing them, giving them shelter, and healthcare, etc. etc. truly scum of the Earth.

You're right. Take away their land, way of life and religious beliefs and give them a pair of underwear. Seams like a fair trade.
Because they all do that? Or your generalizing. I have personally supported and donated to organizations that feed and clothes and house, and give medical attention to the needy and don’t do any of those things you’re talking about. And they do it whether they attend their services or not. That’s not to say that it hasn’t happened, but I’m not throwing the baby out with the bathwater.

Guatemala used to be very Catholic. Now more than 50% Evangelical. The converts say that their men have stopped drinking and beating on their women. I don't agree with some of the theology of either group but a good thing is a good thing. Whatever went on before all we can deal with is right now. No matter how much you hate Christianity the Catholic Church in the past got indigenous groups to stop human sacrifice and cannibalism in various parts of the world. There were priests and nuns in the past who are greatly admired by locals for the good they did. There was a time when the Catholic Church dominated much of the known world and if a high minded young person wanted to live a life of good works and service that was the path available to them. No matter the corruption of the hierarchy there have always been good people trying to make a difference in the world through the Church. That is why Christianity is still a relevant force for good today. There are flaws because humans are flawed. But trying to characterize Christianity as bad and evil and hypocritical always falls flat because there are sincere people who prove every day by the lives they live that there's a better way than giving in to decadence and immorality.

Prove that.
Let’s start with his picture even though that ignores plenty of Christian massacre that happened before contact with the aztec and under Christian rule throughout Europe for centuries beforehand.

How many of those people survived contact with Christians?

Oh let me guess those aren’t true Scotsmen so that doesn’t count.

I have no idea what you're trying to say. You might study history a bit closer. Yes, plenty of examples of people claiming Christianity killing people. Their religion didn't tell them to do that.

But let's look at what precipitated the accession of white Europeans to power. The constant attacks from the east and south by non Christians. Mongols, Huns, Moors, Saracens, countless others. Non Christian white barbarians. Weapon systems were developed in defense. That led to power.

The early church saw many Christians put to death for refusing to renounce their faith. They refused to be violent. This idea spread and became so widespread that rulers themselves either embraced the new religion or nominally accepted it as it was in their best interest to do so. It's when the powers that be accepted it we started seeing a corruption of the Church. Using it to control the masses and to stir passions to attack enemies. But the Church being used to further the fortunes of the powerful isn't Christianity. And they will be judged accordingly.

If you read just how many millions of people were killed by non Christian peoples like the Mongols, or more recently atheist groups like the communists, the people killed by those claiming Christianity is considerably less.

As to the New World certainly atrocities were done. But it's settled history that the overwhelming number of Native deaths came from inadvertently introduced diseases that the Natives weren't immune to. There's even proof now that the Amazon may have had as many as twenty million people wiped out by contact with early explorers who introduced European diseases.

Of course this won't abate your hatred because even if practiced true Christianity doesn't harm others physically it still sees homosexuality as a sin that you will lose your soul over if you don't repent and turn away from. And that upsets you.

Jesus has been gone for 2000+ years, yet Christians claim the US is a chosen land with chosen people. Manifest Destiny, American Exceptionalism and all of the Second Amendment garbage are all justified through The Bible and God. All crap, all the time.

you need to own up to Christian’s slaughtering people and quit using your purity fallacy as some kind of get out of jail free card. That is what I’m telling you. Anytime a Christian ran government or Christian people commit atrocities you just declare them not Christian and move on. No they certainly are Christians, all of them.

Focus on the deaths that didn’t just come from disease. The treatment was barbaric and it’s not even just the new world, take a look at the scramble for Africa and learn about that.
Learn about the Congo, Haiti, South Africa, Philippines, etc.

Christians slaughtered their way around the globe. Killing indiscriminately in some cases.

You’re so wrong about most your history. Christians are far from non violent.

You cry about atheist communists and ignore the centuries of theists rule that ended much the same and led to communism because of it’s brutal conditions.
