I would not be surprised at all to see facial hair allowed beginning this contract.
This is a trick that sadly may have some play for the Company, who doesn't need a newly ratified contract to change appearance policy criteria. The problem is they are gonna try to sell it as some huge giveback.
We prefer, in the interest of political correctness, to call them Charlie Chaplin mustaches.Don't forget the hitler staches...smh

Watch and see if our coworkers aren't willing to give away million$ in order to be permitted a goatee.
Put A/C in the damn trucks!!! Right Bug?!This whole issue of facial hair baffles me.
It's not a contractual issue, even worthy of concideration.
We should be focused working conditions, safety, and life altering issues, etc.

Umm every company in this business but ups has air.Retrofitting an entire fleet of pkg cars with A/C is never going to happen.
New trucks put into service, is a whole different issue.
Problem being.... what company (in this business) has them ?
And, what are you willing to give up in exchange ?
But then, where do you draw the line on climatic issues ?
Arizona, Texas, Florida, Georgia, are worthy. (+ others)
For 2 months out of the year when you have heat ?
Nope.

It's always in the proposal. But gets knocked off early. Both sides come with some frivolous proposals. All tacticsGuys are getting medical exemptions left and right. I would not be surprised at all to see facial hair allowed beginning this contract.
I agree 100%. Beards, AC, ventilation, etc are all stuff I've lived without for decades. If an area wants it a supplemental issue, fine. I'd rather we stick to harassment, OT, pay and H&W and pension.Retrofitting an entire fleet of pkg cars with A/C is never going to happen.

We only use heat a few months out of the year.
Illness from heat happens far more than from cold in our line of work.
I don't believe that ac would factor into their "green" plan and fuel savings from orion. Just my thoughts. We use heat here from late October through early April, depending on the weather.
We would use AC less than 2 months.
AC would make zero sense.
I've been in Nevada and Utah in June when the ambient temperature is over 120°friend. Dry heat or not that's jacking the rear cargo area up to 150°friend+ thanks to the translucent tops on the trucks and the dark paint job.Retrofitting an entire fleet of pkg cars with A/C is never going to happen.

I ran missloads for 9 hrs the other day!! $35/ hr to just drive all around. 150 miles I put on. Easy money!!I'd like to see:
Besides full time package drivers at top rate, only qualified air drivers will be able to move miss loads from one package driver to another at a rate no less then the top air driving wage. Air drivers will only be allowed to deliver miss load ground packages at the top full time driver rate.
Also:
No employee shall be disciplined for miss loading packages.

Almost two decades. What's your (years of) experience as a pkg car driver ?

Air drivers move and deliver ground misloads at pkg car rate now. And really, that's a problem.I'd like to see:
