We took credit for another stop also if we went back----wasn't cheating--just the way it was.
After going out with a pathetic load for weeks (wrote it up on the blue card daily to no avail) I told one Center manager that if he didn't get my packages grouped together for each stop I was going to start duplicate stopping redundant deliveries every time I had to go back and then HE could answer to his boss why I ran 1.75 hrs over that day.

It gets old training management.

Running scared? What gives you that idea? You come to a lot of erroneous conclusions, but carry on, if you wish.
ill carry on brother
everything i said about this contract has come true
everything the IBT said has been a LIE
ILL CONTINUE to share the truth

If I recall, you were whining about members that receive a split rate of pay.

If you bid a 22.3 air combo job, it's a split rate of pay. One rate for air work and one rate for inside work

We're "knocking on the door" of almost 20 years for that. Get over it.... or don't bid the job.

I think we have hit a point of saturation with your posts.

You hate the IBT and your Local Officials.

You want your good company Healthcare back.

You support "right to work" and have advocated withdrawing from the Union.

But now;

You are disparaging your fellow Teamster's.

In no way, shape or form.... are you a Trade Unionist.

You are a Teamster by default. (working for UPS)

Stop trying to be one.

bug you blow all hot air
you are a waste of our dues
you believe that when you fart it smells good
let me be the first to tell you it stinks

Blue card???? I haven't seen one of those in over 20 years.

Let's see, what the "hive" at the BrownCafe has to say.

Be realistic.

Don't be stupid.

It's an honest question, and I would like honest answers.

I'll start:

1) Maintain H&W.... and improvements.

2) Maintain our pension.... and improvements

(including a cost of living increase for retirees)

3) Eliminate 17-I from the Central Region supplement

It's your turn.

Go.

How about addressing the issue of cost of living for current full-timers. I mean, some dude in Nebraska makes the same I do living in the Bay Area. He lives a pretty good life. Meanwhile I'm still paycheck to paycheck. Come on...

I wasn't trying to start a "it was harder back then fight". I was just remembering back when I went out cold on my first rural route.

No cell phones
No Google Maps
No Earth View
No E-911 rural addressing system
Very few names on mail boxes
Very few roads marked with a name
Very few paved roads
Didn't have a clue how Rural Route 2 ran or what area it covered---let alone RR 4,
Star Route and a half a dozen more RR mixed in.

I remember once after dark when I first started delivering this route having to ask a customer directions on how to get back to town when I finished my last stop-----now that's LOST.

Now I drive around the country and every road has a street sign and every resident has a nice big blue numbered sign at the end of their driveway just like house numbers when delivering in town.-----------------and the roads are all paved.
Added to your list:
No Diads and being pestered by messages from the center.
As well, no green light of death prior to returning to the building!

As the management likes to tell us..
"No in cab distractions!".
Then disable the sound and light function on the diad when the wheels are moving. It wouldn't be that hard. But yet, there goes production for safety and you know that will never fly.

If you are distracted by a momentary beep and a green light you really have no business driving a commercial vehicle.

That's your problem.
Is this poster supposed to quit because he can't transfer as a full time employee?
Again, let's open up the availability to full timers to transfer? Does that seem unreasonable? Work out the pension issues with iit and let's do it.

I've driven commercially for almost thirty years and when the diad audible alert goes off I always look down there. Don't tell me that you dont.
The green light at night is also a catalyst to take your eyes off the road.

If you travel roughly 80+ ft per second at 55 mph a second means a lot when you have to expect the unexpected.
Why do you support management's hypocrisy? Got a CDL? You drive an oversized van but don't even really know what driving a "commercial" vehicle is.

He can either increase his income or reduce his expenses.
How do you know that? Not everyone's issues are that easy although you presume to know everyone's personal financial status.
There's other things that drain a financial budget including health issues.

Yes, much like when you respond to a ringing phone, my eyes do look toward the DIAD when the green light comes on; however, the distraction is brief and my focus returns to the job at hand.

Depending upon where I am or if I am on my way back to the building, I will either find a safe place to pull over and see what they want or wait until I pull in to the center before answering.

As I said, if a momentary beep and green light are enough to make you feel unsafe, you have no business operating a commercial vehicle.

It's simple economics:

I make $5 per day but spend $6 per day, thus creating a deficit of $1 per day. I can either find a job that pays me $7 per day or lower my expenses to $4 per day.

Much like the people who told me that I should have known that there was a union before coming to work here, S. friend. Rush should have known what our wages were and if they would be enough to not only pay his bills but allow him to live comfortably.

Market based wages are a slippery slope.

Comprehension seems to elude your mindset?
You look DOWN to the diad taking your eyes off the road and the issue is what the company says about taking your eyes off the road (distracted driving) not what I say.

Arguing with you over your derailed, cocky and one sided responses is like trying to describe a diamond to a blind person...
except the fact that the blind person is truly blind but not by choice and you are blind because you like it that way.

BTW: Don't be cowardly, at least be man enough to tag my posts if you respond to them.
