No, I think UPS should top us out at $25-30/hr because that is what I think is an fair wage for a job that requires only a HS diploma and drivers license. It has nothing to do with where I live.
Are you writing the company a check back every week to soothe your conscience?
If not, that's hypocrisy.

I hit six figures three years ago. When I was growing up, 100k was "fat cats." Now it pays for a decent mortgage, used cars that run, two camping vacations, and everybody eats every meal. A decent living, but only a decent living.

I would call it a fair days pay for a fair days work. Because I work my tail off all day for it. I don't have time during the business day, or in "moonlighting " time, to make the difference up with other pursuits.

I know otr drivers that retire having made really good wages that aren't in the category that UPS drivers are in regards to the highest percentages of hourly having workers comp injuries including repetitive damage that most often is denied as being work related.

Maybe UpstateNY can post his propaganda in another forum section vs spewing antiunion sentiment all the while pocketing the benefits thereof.

...or perhaps you can take off your Teamster tinted glasses and view the economic reality that we need to bring the wages of our future hires more in line with that of our direct competitors...

Are you submitting a proposal for two tiered wages ? How would you feel if those who paved the way for you did the same ?
Are you sure you don't pay for your healthcare and get paid once a month?

Or, perhaps you can leave your union represented job and go join them.

Our building is having trouble finding part timers for $11 an hour. Once hired they usually quit within a month. What does everyone suggest for pay raises for part timers?

Start them at $15/hr with annual raises of $1 up to a top out of $20/hr.

Offer those 26 or under the option of an additional $3/hr (to start and top out) if they opt out of health insurance.

Ups probably pays much more than 3 bucks an hour into a medical plan for pters...and to be eligible for your parents insurance they need to probably be going to school... do employer plans even cover 26 year olds anymore??

If the top out were only $25/hr I would look for work elsewhere.

You're talking out of "both sides of your mouth".

Exactly;

Where do you think, you can make a comparative wage ?

With free Healthcare and a Defined pension plan ?

If you know of another opportunity....

Feel free, to offer your suggestions to the guy that just got wacked for theft.
