I would prefer one well versed in contract negotiation, such as a lawyer, to be involved in the process.

A lawyer that knows the ins and out of contract law.

Hate to break it to you....

But both the IBT and UPS use lawyers, during negotiations.

Lawyers are already writing verbiage in our contracts.

My Local doesn't doesn't re-negotiate "white paper" or "Local" contracts, without a Lawyer present.

But.... all the heavy lifting, is done by us Joe Union type of guys.

You are soooooo out of touch with the rank and file. You cannot relate to today teamsters. You are a part of the Caucasian good old Boys club. I can't wait till you lose your position. I hope you are flying to Vegas.

....and Hoffa and company says TU and TDU are creating the division, so what's your point in light of the fact that very little has changed?

What sparks your enthusiasm, because I'm not feeling it?

Don't get me wrong, Little Jumbo gets on my nerves too and is not a spokesman for anybody, but really how do you muster this positive attitude of yours?

Ummm do you remember what the IBT did to you A few years ago. How can you forgive and forget ? The division was when the dog and pony show occurred on your dollar. The division occurred when our voting rights were taken from us. How soon you forget slugger !!

I used to see the glass as half empty, now I see it's half full. I think everything will work out. I'm not sure why but I do. Maybe I just have faith in my union..

I doubt it, his resolve is relentless. I used to actually hate this about him, but when I figured out his overall good intentions as a unionist I embraced it. If there is one thing I'll tell you, if you keep acting like a maroon he will expose you.

I got a bike I'll sell you.
That's ok brother. I got my bike back. It's a much better bike. It doesn't cost me money every time I use it. By serving this country I have a bike for the rest of my life. I just feel bad for my co workers. Their bike got stolen from them and they even had them chained up. Their own union stole their bikes! I will always fight for my brothers and sisters. That's the difference between me and you. I have my bike back but I'm so concerned about that poor retiree who is living on a fixed income and about to pay $$$$$$$$$400 a month for a watered down healthcare plan when he was promised the company plan for $50 a month. DO YOU UNDERSTAND HOW BAD THIS IS HURTING THOSE WHO PAVED THE ROAD FOR YOU ?
CO PAYS OUT THE REAR END.
I ALSO AM CONCERNED FOR MY DEAR PART TIMERS WHO CANT EVEN AFFORD A HOT DOG IN THE UPS CAFE. THEY CANT AFFORD TO PAY THE COPAYS OF TEAMCARE

I'm not being a maroon brother.
I'm simply sticking up for those who paved the road for you.
I'm sticking up for that part timer that can't afford a hot dog from the ups cafeteria. What makes you think they can afford Teamcare ?
I would love to get what was promised to me. As you know I don't even use it.
I'm concerned about the fixed income retirees about to pay $400 a month for a plan that is laughable at best. Then your boys are running the pension funds into the ground!!
CUT CUT CUT CUT CUT CUT CUT CUT CUT
it's funny that my 401k got all its money Back and a lot more but the pension funds are still crying about the stock market.

This is where you loose me and most.

My 401k rebounded....and then some,

....but only because all of my original investment, plus what I bought while it was low, was there to rebound.

Pension funds aren't afforded that luxury.
They pay out benefits while bleeding, with much less to rebound.

But with all of this in mind, your ridiculous statement motivates me to ask yet another question(s) I continue to ask, with no reasonable answers:

How is it with all of the variables like deregulation and recessions, were some Teamster pensions able to survive or even thrive, while others are destined for insolvency?

How did some of these funds defy the odds?.... What were the autonomous variables???
