Coronavirus

My wife was making more on unemployment than she was working her regular job. Should she have been lazy and not gone back to work?

FYI nobody is getting the $600 a week anymore
Nobody is, but $600 a week since March is more than loaders make. Again Trump wants to know give these people $300 a week to sit at home.
Your wife was fortunate enough in Trumps stimulus to make more being at home than working. She’s just the opposite of loaders. They got paid less to work.

Tell me again how not working making $600 a week isnt better pay than working?
It's called having a little self respect, and not living off others. Evidently, you have none.

Plus, I debunked your rantings, by showing how even the lowest paid worker, working FT, makes more than that. Which isn't even in effect right now.

PS Don't you care about your kids, or grandkids future? Those dollars are coming from somewhere.

You didn’t prove anything because UPS loaders are PT workers. Not FT. UPS is getting FT work for PT pay. You’re management.

But unlike you I’m in the union. Not just someone on here defending the unemployed making more than your “alleged” union brothers.
You obviously have low memory skills, because I have said it was a bad bill time and time again. Never should have been that high, but emotions pushed that bill forward.

You don't like the union, you want it busted, you've said it by saying you don't want to pay union dues. Again assumptions, assumptions.

Just because you say it was a bad bill Trump signed doesn’t change the fact unemployed people are making more money than working. Why do you keep defending that?
You really can not comprehend written word, can you? Where am I defending it?

They are following the contract on this issue. If you want more money, file some supervisor working grievances, and there is your hazard pay.

COVID-19 first appeared in a group of Chinese miners in 2012, scientists say

The coronavirus may not have originated at a Wuhan wet market last year but 1,000 miles away in 2012 — deep in a Chinese mineshaft where workers came down with a mysterious, pneumonia-like illness after being exposed to bats. In April 2012, six miners in the Mojiang mine in southwestern China’s Yunnan province fell ill after spending more than 14 days removing bat feces. Three eventually died.

“We feel that it’s being circulated underground in the scientific community,” Latham said. “People think it has merit, but they are reluctant to go public because the coronavirus has become very politicized.”

Virologist Jonathan Latham and molecular biologist Allison Wilson, both of the non-profit Bioscience Resource Project in Ithaca, arrived at their finding after translating a 66-page master’s thesis from the Chinese medical doctor who treated the miners and sent their tissue samples to the Wuhan Institute of Virology for testing.
“The evidence it contains has led us to reconsider everything we thought we knew about the origins of the COVID-19 pandemic,” Latham and Wilson wrote in an article published July 15 on their website, “Independent Science News.”
Latham told The Post that the coronavirus “almost certainly escaped” from the Wuhan lab.

Although scientists at the Wuhan lab had collected coronavirus samples from bats at the same mine, they missed the 2012 connection.
In fact, Shi Zhengli, a virologist at the Wuhan lab who is known as “the batwoman” for her extensive research into bat-derived coronaviruses, told Scientific American in June that the miners had died from a fungal infection, “although it would have been only a matter of time before they caught the coronaviruses if the mine had not been promptly shut.”

“The mine shaft stunk like hell,” Shi told the magazine. “Bat guano, covered in fungus, littered the cave.”

Followed the link to the Independent Science News article. The doctor (presumably an MD equivalent ) who supervised the miners' treatment in 2012 was writing a master's thesis about it in 2013?

Those dollars are coming from somewhere. Yes which is why I won’t vote Trump, you will though.

It's your Democrats that implemented the $600/wk unemployment benefit. The Republicans wanted it based off the States unemployment calculations. Roughly 70% if what you typically make.

Bernie Sanders threatened to hold up the whole stimulus package if the Republicans didn't cave in.

The Republicans got some of what they wanted, so they compromised.

You do realize what is holding up the next stimulus package, don't you?

The Republicans, including Trump, don't want to maintain the $600/wk benefit. They want it reduced.

Pelosi walked away, demanding the $600/wk stay. The Republicans didn't give in this time. Trump wanted $300 from the Feds and $100 from the States. A little more reasonable than $600/wk. So blame Schumer and Pelosi, not Trump, for PTers making less working than unemployed.
