Coronavirus

Thanks because if my sister dies from this I'm going after the Corona virus myself.

Where does she live?

There are cases in my State, but we haven’t hit community transmission status like they have in Seattle WA.

Or Italy, or South Korea.

Odds are she’s fine, but it’s always good to err on the side of caution.

Wash hands, don’t touch face, wash hands, don’t touch face...

Not nearly enough ventilators either. If a lotta people die because they couldn't get access to one there might be a real re-evaluation of our medical system.
Not really ... do a cost benefit analysis.
Let the old people die off ... they are not contributing to the economy.
It'll wipe out the addicts as well and the homeless people.

I think Trump manufactured this whole crisis to improve the numbers.
Think about it! Reduction in Soc Sec, Medicare and Medicaid. Weed out the weak and it doesn't kill young people or children.
This definitely has the feel of Trump about it!

Damn! I could work for CNN or MSNBC!

Oh I'm taking it very seriously but was having a little fun with that one post. I have been posting all along that this is serious when others here keep talking about the flu or some Democrat plot.

This is a dry-run, and the world community is failing.

This particular virus doesn’t seem to be that bad, but the jury is out.

Currently, this virus (seems to be) transmitted directly, i.e. person to person, like the common cold or the flu.

But if this virus spread by airborne transmission, then all bets are off.

We could still deal with it, but it would be a MAJOR FKG HASSLE, and a lot of people would die, like they do every year from the annual flu.

But...imagine there’s a virus like HIV that goes airborne, we would be utterly destroyed.

That would be a cull beyond what even you think is acceptable, and it would grind the world to a halt.

So, the fact that the world is screwing up handling this particularly nasty flu doesn’t bode well for when the REAL sht comes down the pike...
It's not the flu, and as it's a new strain of coronavirus we haven't yet built up any resistance to it. About 82% to 84% of all cases are mild, but for serious cases it's pretty bad, and in the elderly it's pretty deadly. That's why I mentioned Florida, which has the highest median age in the country. Could be especially bad there. What's insidious about this is that it can be spread while asymptomatic. That makes it extremely difficult if not impossible to contain. So if 5 billion people get infected and it's killing just 3% that's 150 million dead. And in countries like India with so many in close quarters and with a poor health infrastructure the percentage could go a lot higher.

That's because you are older with a compromised immune system from uncontrolled diabetes.

I'm even older with diabetes.

This old diabetic friend:censored2:ker is really at risk!

i think we've seen this one before , Phylogenetic analysis revealed that 2019-nCoV fell within the subgenus Sarbecovirus of the genus Betacoronavirus, with a relatively long branch length to its closest relatives bat-SL-CoVZC45 and bat-SL-CoVZXC21, and was genetically distinct from SARS-CoV. Notably, homology modelling revealed that 2019-nCoV had a similar receptor-binding domain structure to that of SARS-CoV, despite amino acid variation at some key residues.
Having fun?

Flu kills.1 Corona kills 5% and that number climbs every day. It kills 80% of elderly and sick. So as long as you don't have grandparents or elderly parents or know anyone who may have a weak immune system or maybe even heavy smokers because it attacks lung then you should be fine.
Where are you getting your numbers from?

I want you and all the perverted posters here in Current Events that "I Love Ya'll Man!"
I probably will not make it through the pandemic.

Just a quick copy/paste from the CDC if you highlight and Google it.

Thanks Captain Obvious.

Good thing we had you around as an early warning system.
