From what I understand, they are forcing anyone with a positive test to go to a hotel to be quarantined, without letting them know where they are going, or letting them tell anyone. The "paying for travellers to quarantine" is a soft sell.

What I saw was it was for positive tests. They may be offering to pay for anyone, but, if they are requiring it for all travellers, who wouldn't be making their own arrangements ahead of time? My thinking is that this is to help cover for the forced detentions, and to try to get more tourism going. Honestly, most people who don't live there would never consider spending more than two weeks in Canada at a time. Why bother going now?

theres some sick where i live. you could probably head east and make 2 weeks out of it. i dont think a road trip across the country is worthwhile
