They had $500,000.00 why dont they pay for their own potties? Why should my tax dollar pay for that?

Government Rents Port-A-Potties For Occupy Congress Protests, Taxpayers Stuck With The Bill…

Absurd.
Via Washington Whispers:
America’s taxpayers, already on the hook for watching over the Occupy movement’s three-month seizure of Washington’s downtown McPherson Square, are getting stuck with another bill to cover the police protection and port-a-potty rentals at today’s Capitol protest.

For today’s protest, where several hundred Occupiers toting signs lingered in the muddy grass of the Capitol Grounds, over two dozen U.S. Capitol Police were assigned to ring the lawn, most on foot, some on bikes, and others in 18 cars, buses, and trucks counted by Whispers.

Plus, the government rented 17 bright blue potties from Don’s Johns, which were parked across from the Capitol Grounds and in the shadow of the Ulysses S. Grant Memorial.

The Architect of the Capitol’s office wouldn’t comment on the costs or protection.

But Don’s Johns told Whispers that renting 17 potties costs about $2,100.
A miffed Capitol Police officer told us, “I can’t believe we’re paying for this. But they have no money. They were complaining about parking prices

January 17, 2012 @ 7:21 pm | Occupy Wall Street Running Out of Cash After They Blow Through Most of Their $700K Bank Account…

And Pelosi said they didn’t have much in common.
(WSJ) — Occupy Wall Street—the movement built on protesting corporate greed and income inequality—is running out of money.

After raising more than $700,000 last fall, protesters who keep track of money for Occupy Wall Street reported this week that the group has about $170,000 in its bank account. Very few donations are coming in, they said.
“If we keep spending at the rate at which we have been doing, we will probably go broke in a month,” said Haywood Carey, 28 years old, a member of the movement’s accounting group.

Occupy Wall Street voted to freeze all spending on new projects at a Saturday meeting of its main government body, the General Assembly, but will continue spending on basics such as housing at several churches, food, clothing and transportation.

Notice in all those countries who is leading the charge: THE YOUTH!! The tyranny of the plutocracy in this country too will fall!!
And imagine how the people who "don't understand" the occupy movement will react when Obama has to address the nation that sorry, we screwed up so we have to devalue the "money" by 50%. Because that's what's coming in the coming weeks...

The House oversight committee announced Tuesday that one of its subcommittees will hold a hearing next week to explore why Occupy protesters in Washington, D.C.’s McPherson Square have been allowed to camp there indefinitely.
In a letter to witnesses that will be called to testify, South Carolina Republican Rep. Trey Gowdy said that his Subcommittee on Health Care, District of Columbia, Census and the National Archives will “focus on the decision-making process that has allowed continued camping in McPherson Square for more than three months despite the apparent illegality of it.”

Yeah, you can't dance with someone by a memorial, but you can camp FREE and soil the area and it's OK. Makes no sense whatsoever!

(MSNBC) — Sergio Ballesteros, 30, has been involved in Occupy LA since the movement had its California launch in October. But this week, his activism took an abrupt turn when he was arrested on a felony charge — lynching.
Under the California penal code, lynching is “taking by means of a riot of any person from the lawful custody of any peace officer,” where “riot” is defined as two or more people threatening violence or disturbing the peace. The original purpose of the legal code section 405(a) was to protect defendants in police custody from vigilante mobs — especially black defendants from racist groups.
Whether the police allegation in this case will be pursued by by California’s courts is uncertain. But the felony charge — which carries a potential four-year prison sentence — is the kind of accusation that can change the landscape for would-be demonstrators.
Ballesteros, a teacher-turned-social-activist, was one of two people arrested during an “art walk” in downtown Los Angeles on Thursday.
