You know they are churning Navy ships in record time for them. They are behind by over a decade. We will feed them until they get stronger. Think UPS feeding Amazon. How that turn out? Greed..
They are a long way off. They have more small ships but none that can go more than 1200 miles from port. And our total tonnage is many times their navy. The Japanese navy is much bigger than theirs.

Never mind, I figured out how to watch it.

You do understand that a tariff is a tax that we will pay if we buy said tariffed product correct? Again, I’m fine with that if he gets rid of the IRS, but if he keeps them both, it will be a disaster.
You do understand it will be cheaper for you to buy American products? At that point you'll have to quit buying junk from Walmart. Which works out better for us in the long run.

I’m all for that, but that will take a lot of time and also if the tariffs are going to replace payroll taxes, we will also need a consumption tax.
No doubt it won't be easy. Moving everything offshore took time too. And we have examples of manufacturers building factories here to avoid tariffs already. Numerous foreign car companies have factories in the U.S.

One problem I'm seeing is we signed a trade agreement with Canada and Mexico that allowed our companies to put factories in those two countries to avoid higher labor costs in the U.S. Japan and others have taken advantage of this too by moving some of their factories out of the U.S. and into Mexico. Trump is now going after Mexico and Canada for the trade imbalance that our government working with our companies caused. We do need a better balance of trade but to hear him tell it it's the Mexicans and Canadians pushing unfair trade practices.
