That's what's crazy. It's so available to buy from farmers but people don't do it. I live in a small town anyway so it's super easy but all anybody else has to do is look on a small town Facebook forum and search for a farmer selling meat, message them and set up a transaction.

We just got a half pig last week.

You understand that local farmers can't supply everyone, right? If everyone depended on local farmers, most people would starve to death. If no one got a decent portion of their calories from carbohydrates/grains, most people would starve to death.

Yeah carbs and grains are definitely important. I eat a lot of oatmeal and rice and the like. As far as the meat goes, I know they could never sustain everyone, but a portion of the population is smart enough to go through local farmers knowing that most people are ignorant to it. I don't think we will ever have to worry about it catching on to the point where they can't keep up. Most people are just content eating fast food every day or eating canned or frozen foods.

I guess you never heard of this. You must be to young. Ever heard of the phrase “Drunk the Koolaid?” In case you haven’t heard this was Jim Jones he falsely scared his followers of what was going to happen to them if they didn’t commit suicide so they willingly drank Cyanide laced Koolaid and even gave it to their children. It was a horrible death but they thought the “cure” was better than not doing it. Over 900 people died that day. It shows that people will go as far as death if fear is pushed hard enough and a solution of escape is given.
