The FBI isn't breaking down doors in the middle of the night to drag away someone who criticized the president. No matter how much you want it to be so it isn't. The last administration harassed, threatened jail of some of their critics. They learned fast that they couldn't get away with it.
perhaps you should look up what chomsky says on the FBI, or maybe howard zinn. we know FBI i believe killed black panthers illegally.

if you think they arent legally terrorizing people for their political beliefs you are sadly mistaken. activist groups are infiltrated. chris hedges and richard wolff joke during their public speeches about the DHS secret agents in the crowd.

america has the worst surveillance system in human history, its just not being actively used against us the way other systems were. wait till they flip the switch.

those are just words.

the govt says things all the time to push their immoral agenda.

this is a great article on US intelligence agencies. the FBI told MLK to kill himself:

"THE PRESIDENT: A small, secret surveillance committee of goons and thugs hiding behind the mask of patriotism was established in 1908 in Washington, D.C. The group was led from 1924 until 1972 by J. Edgar Hoover, and during his reign it became known as the Federal Bureau of Investigation. FBI agents spied upon and infiltrated labor unions, political parties, radical groups — especially those led by African-Americans — anti-war groups and the civil rights movement in order to discredit anyone, including politicians such as Henry Wallace, who questioned the power of the state and big business. Agents burglarized homes and offices, illegally opened mail and planted unlawful wiretaps. Bureau leaders created blacklists. They destroyed careers and sometimes lives. They demanded loyalty oaths. By the time they were done, our progressive and radical movements, which had given us the middle class and opened up our political system, were dead. And while the FBI was targeting internal dissidents, our foreign intelligence operatives were overthrowing regimes, bankrolling some of the most vicious dictators on the planet and carrying out assassinations in numerous countries, such as Cuba and the Philippines and later Iran, Guatemala, Vietnam, Chile, Iraq and Afghanistan.

Throughout American history, intelligence services often did little more than advance and protect corporate profits and solidify state repression and imperialist expansion."

What Obama Really Meant Was ...

"We can collect and store in perpetuity all metadata of your email correspondence and phone records and track your geographical movements. We can assassinate you if I decide you are a terrorist. We can order the military under Section 1021 of the National Defense Authorization Act to arrest you, strip you of due process and hold you indefinitely in military detention centers. We can continue to throw into prison those who expose the illegality of what we are doing, or force them into exile, as all totalitarian secret police forces from the SS to the KGB to the East German Stasi have done. And we can torture."

beware real and imagined national emergencies:

BREAKING: We just sued Trump over his fake national emergency. If Trump gets away with this, there's no telling what the next concocted "emergency" will be, who will be targeted and what emergency powers will be claimed. We refuse to tolerate this slide to authoritarianism.

america already has a very weak "democracy" and has only had a full democracy since the 1970s.

ralph nader and public citizen very concerned about michael cohens quotes about trump giving up power if he loses in 2020. id guess that trump hates democracy more than previous presidents recently, but the road to tyranny has been decades long from both parties.

the fascist historian snyder at yale thinks america doesnt even need a false flag or real emergency for there to be a full blown police state:

Cohen: I Fear Trump Won't Leave If He Loses Election | Republic Report

"In 2020, if an opponent does rise to the challenge and defeats Trump, the concerns will be magnified, because Trump would be poised to contest the outcome from inside the White House, with a sense of entitlement, and with access to the levers of power. Trump has demonstrated again and again, from his complaints about law enforcement investigations, to his unilateral announcements of a new branch of the military, military pullouts, and military parades, that he thinks that the arms of our democracy should be at his personal disposal.

If Trump resists leaving, it will be up to the Congress, the states, and the public to stand up for our democracy. But it may also require steely resolve by some key national security and law enforcement leaders, such as the Secretary of Defense, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, the Attorney General, the director of the FBI, and the director of the Secret Service. Trump’s dismissal from office of semi-independent officials like James Mattis and Jeff Sessions has increased the dangers."

Don't overlook this. Cohen: “Given my experience working for Mr. Trump, I fear that if he loses the election in 2020 that there will never be a peaceful transition of power, and this is why I agreed to appear before you today.” #CohenHearing

i think unfortunately since so many people are clueless about finding out the truth, that if someone decided to be a dictator in america he would probably be defended by significant portions of the media and the bewildered citizens.

there was a german constitution before hitler came to power. it didnt stop him.

part of this episode is about unitary executive theory which concentrates more power in the president. sounds like it was started under reagan and then W bush went crazy with it post 9/11. its given america warrantless surveillance, torture, etc.

obama was debatably worse on civil liberties than bush. and i was rereading a democracy now book and i forget what they said clinton started.

Hitler thrived under socialism. Without socialism we may have never known who he was.
