The trajectory we were on wasn't sustainable. What solutions do you have for an ever increasing debt, and ever increasing amount of interest to service that debt? The interest alone is taking an ever bigger bite of the Federal budget. The only real solution, one that has worked before, is grow the economy. Look at the 90's. We actually managed to balance the budget. Two wars and a lot of spending later got us here. It's just not feasible to continue as before. Despise him if you must, but Trump is telling other nations to pick up tab on their own defense. Or they don't deserve our money for acting poorly. In other words he's finding ways to cut down the out go. We are now spending less but have a long way to go. A static economy won't get us there.
Van, we don't have foreign aid to help foreign countries. We have it to help our own country.

If we had a truly innovative president intent on economic development he'd propose public/private partnerships on the African continent.

I've said it before and now again: the communist Chinese are very good at capitalism.

Do you need an air compressor or tire gauge
You keep saying that. I've seen nothing saying that contractors are getting anything.

So if he didn't say yes or no, why are you telling people they are getting raises?

He wouldn't answer the question directly at all. Very politicky of him.

"I'm sure we're going to be doing a lot of things with this tax bill."
"My guess is we will be responsive to the tax bill."

you watched it

I did. And there's nothing concrete in there. Basically wait until the BoD votes on it this week.

Hell, we could be getting all new AADs or new frickin' planes. They could give us all $1 raises. They could give us all another $500 in our PPAs.

Most of us want cash money now because that's what helps our monthly budget.

The communist Chinese depend very much on us for their viability. And foreign aid is fine as long as it benefits us too. Giving aid to Pakistan for example wasn't getting the results we needed, mostly taking our money while stabbing us in the back. And we always hear how it's so wonderful in Europe. Many of those countries were letting us do the heavy lifting on defense while spending their money elsewhere. So really, what would you have us do, continue to throw money away and increase our debt?

the way he was talking made it sound like their going to do something, you got to watch the interview
The last settlement increase we got was for "large package". It amounted to covering increased work comp insurance premium and it took three years of "looking at it" to get there.
