No 30 years ago I was on a fall Muley hunt and a lady shot a white ing steer in the middle of an open field. We were glassing and heard the shot within a couple hundred yards of us followed by the whack of the bullet, but we had no idea what was shot because we hadn't seen any deer in this draw. Steer piled up about 40 yards from where it had been standing, immediately followed by her ecstatic cheering....immediately followed by my brother our two buddies and I....

Had a few horses shot during deer season --supposedly by mistake. Seems to always be some hunter gets shot even though he is decked out in blaze orange hunting clothes. A lot of tweedy birds get shot by hunters who haven't seen a deer all day.
