Gas surcharge, thanks to Joe

It does matter. The EV will get you from A to B more reliably than any combustion vehicle. Period.

They are lacking dozens of problem parts and processes, and require no maintenance. No coolant flushes. They don't even have a transmission. You name it. They don't have it.

Tesla owners are richer than average, and very demanding, and they call in fix requests for anything and everything. They're high-maintenance people who own little yappy dogs. They're named things like Kevin and Karen. That's why they call so much for a vehicle of below average build quality.

But if you want reliability, which is A to B, there is nothing that can touch an EV.
And a Toyota Camry will outlast an electric vehicle any day. They may have less moving parts. But they have the most of the absolute worst and most expensive parts of all. Computers, and big batteries filled with very expensive raw materials. Well im done for the day. Good luck with your ev. And supporting libs political ambitions. I’ll stick with a vehicle I know is going to start in the morning whe it’s -2 outside.

So you don't consider the benefits, but only costs?

You fill up every week. I don't.

You go to the mechanic. I don't.

I don't wait for an oil change. I don't drive to a dealer. I don't do anything. The vehicle just runs, because it has barely any fluids.

I don't look for refueling stations. I don't need them. I don't take a "5-minute" detour for a fillup.

Then, I stop once every few months for a supercharge and somehow I'm inconvenienced?
Well 60 grand is a lot of cost.

You can be done. But combustion is, by definition, more damaging and subject to more wear and tear, more maintenance, and sooner breakdown, than an electric motor. It's not even a viable debate to have.

Yes, superior technology is always available first to people who have money.
There’s the money thing again. I’m assuming since you are sitting on a pile of cash that you are a driver. It’s 1am here on a Monday morning. Don’t you have go to work in the morning?

no, I don't do much of anything. I show up at preload for a bit, then I go home early because I have a ton of seniority, then I day-trade for a few minutes.

To tell the truth Alaska wasn't even on my bucket list. My wife is the driving force behind this trip. To me Alaska is like Hawaii. Expensive with some beautiful scenery that is marred by houses that all seem to have a yard full of junk. All it means to me is that now I will have visited all but 3 states--Maine, Vt. and N.H.
Like anywhere we do have our “yards full of junk”. Get past the city and even my area.. the Last Frontier is still out there. I hope the two of you have a great time.

I'm sorry for the misunderstanding. Superior new technology is always, at first, available only to those who have the means to pay for it.
Yup. Let the pioneers be first, pay the most, and work out the bugs. I’ll buy when it’s more mainstream, the prices inevitably fall, and problems we haven’t even started arguing about yet are solved. Meantime I may be payin bit more for gas now (Thanks, Mr.President!) but my vehicle is paid for. I could see myself in EV pickup one day…

Elon is a tool of the globalists and EVs are a camel's nose to bring in unbelievable control and envirotyranny.

But they're also a superior vehicle that will win, and it's not up to you or me.
We don’t have a choice. Environmentally and politically we have to move on. Fossil fuel leads to death and violence.

...

Nah
In your personal vehicle?

Good for you for being in a very small minority. I'm quite happy to say an EV is probably not best for you. Do you feel special now?
No, but I'm glad you admit there are some cases where an EV might not be the best idea at the moment. You sounded like a religious fanatic the way you were pushing this stuff.

I cannot be held responsible for how you misinterpret.

I've said about eleventy-hundred times that regular long haul, or heavy towing, is not a good EV market now.

So, how many times do you drive 300 miles a day, in a year?

Just about everybody would spend less time refueling every year with an EV than with a gas car.
