To avoid the sticker shock from inflation , one would have to keep working until they are on death's door.
Not something most posters here would hardly think of doing.
But for retirees , living on a fixed budget, there is no escape.

Frankly , I had to give up lap dances to afford my basic standard of living.

Anyone care to guess what my next luxury to forgo will be ?

If you’ve given up the hookers, logically blow is next

I know, what’s the point in retirement if you can’t enjoy the finer things. But times are getting tough.
Screw a bunch of "tough times". I'm still going to Texas in April for the grandkids birthdays and taking a 3 week trip to Alaska in June because my wife wants to see it. My motorcycle gets the best milage of any vehicle I own so I will be riding it more this summer.

I think the savings would only be a $.05 a gallon would is eaten up by the maintenance cost and labor cost of waiting in line to fuel.
Except at my center we drive a mile away to get fuel. Half the time the card reader won’t work, and when you add in waiting in line because there are only two pumps, and how slow those pumps are, it’s an extra hour for every driver at $60 an hour. Whatever🤷‍♂️

The rise in gas costs and inflation eats up our yearly wage gain. When you apply inflation to our wage we are essentially making 2.4% an hour less then we were a year ago. Those numbers are from December and are worse now, also doesn’t take into consideration the price of food. So yeah it does affect him. I already traded in my pickup because I was spending 130$ every week and a half on gas. Cost 65$ on January 19th 2021.
Not me. I just bought a brand new truck that gets 13 mpg, lol. And I love every minute of getting beside some liberal in a Prius and mashing it. I’ll work as much ot as it takes to keep burning that fossil fuel baby!! The world needs a little more carbon in the air anyway. Our poor trees are starving!

The war is just a stall to a failing system. Inflation again failing system. Kill off the oil reasonably asap. Technology will win.
Lol, good luck! The only reason it’s failing is because we have brain dead, lazy people that keep electing liberals, supposedly. You cannot cut the oil off untill technology does catch up!! Why is this so hard to understand? We are light years away from that happening.

A light year is a measure of distance, brain dead.

Yeah, I know. It was just a saying to point out the fact that we are a long ways away from being free from fossil fuels. Oops a long ways is a measure of distance as well isn’t it? Take the quote in the context it was meant for please. You do have the capacity to do that, don’t you?
