guns

It will be fine

I walked into a Walmart once and bought a chainsaw having no idea how to handle it.

After reading the instructions, and a couple of test-fires, I understood it and I was able to dispatch a tree.

And somehow, the schools and post offices in the area were left unthreatened.

There's something vaguely familiar in all this.
You used a tool for its intended purpose. Things get a bit different with the purpose of firearms.

There's a reason why they're classifying gun violence as a health crisis, and climate change as a national security issue. Gives them broader authority to enact their anticonstitutional agenda.
I'm sure you knew what I meant but for those wondering there's no way blacks will be singled out as not being able to possess guns while everyone else is allowed.

In a research study sponsored by the United States Department of Justice, James Wright and Peter Rossi interviewed over 1,800 incarcerated felons, asking how they felt about civilians and gun ownership. Thirty-three percent of these criminals admitted to being scared off, shot at, wounded, or captured by a gun-owning victim. Sixty-nine percent of them knew at least one other criminal who had similar experiences. Nearly 80 percent of felons also claimed that they intentionally avoid victims and homes that they believe may be armed.

This shows that at least one in three criminals has been deterred because of an armed citizen, and that four out of five avoid victimizing people that have guns.

The House passed H.R. 8, the "Bipartisan Background Checks Act of 2021," a bill that expands universal background checks for private firearm transactions, requires all private firearms transactions to go through a licensed dealer, effectively bans persons age 18-20 from purchasing handguns, and contains only limited exemptions for self-defense.
The bill passed 227 to 203, with eight Republicans voting with the Democratic majority in favor.

So my Illinois FOID card finally showed up. Thought about a shotgun at first but prefer something not so conspicuous on the way to the range. What’s a fun handgun for the range? Don’t really care about price but not don’t wanna pay $3 a round for ammo either. (Yes. I’m exaggerating. For now.)

Some shops have ammo set aside for just for gun sales.
Always ask.
