Then McMaster is a liar if he said federal assistance was superb. The feds finally started arriving on the ground by about Friday, nearly a week later. The national guards are state run also and have done well so far.
Mayorkis initially said there was no more funds. Thank goodness they have changed their tune a little.
If I had seen the feds in these areas it would be one thing, but that wasn’t the case.
So FEMA hasn't depleted its storm relief funds because it spent much of that money “housing” illegal migrants?

I could care less about that. I care about the situation I’m witnessing in the area now and the people involved.
The Fed response is pretty typical. donald's lies are about are not, (except for him). btw, all three gov's from GA, SC and NC have stated they are satisfied with the response.

Republican South Carolina Gov. Henry McMaster said at a Tuesday press conference that federal assistance had “been superb”

"As of Friday, FEMA reported shipping more than 11.5 million meals, 12.6 million liters of water, 400,000 tarps, and 150 generators to the affected region, as reported by The Washington Post. This response mirrors the agency's efforts during Hurricane Ian in 2022, when nearly 2,000 personnel were deployed to Florida and the Southeast.

Additionally, around 6,700 National Guard members from 16 states, along with roughly 1,000 active-duty troops, are engaged in relief operations. However, the vast disaster area spanning six southeastern states complicates coordination. Federal officials are working alongside state and local agencies, facing significant misinformation that hampers their mission."

For the sake of argument, let’s say that’s true. However, what good is all that if it’s sitting on the tarmac at Ashville Airport and not being distributed to those who most need it?

Not to mention how fast will a million plus people go through 11.5 million meals? They need to put the military out there with the Corps of Engineers. And they need to do it yesterday. With enough supplies to field a huge army for months.

Both Republican and Democrat Governors are saying they are getting all of the Federal help they can use.

And those on the ground are saying different. FEMA didn't even arrive in Asheville til Thursday night.
Those that are affected will always feel it's not soon enough unless FEMA is there immediately after the storm. I'd say FEMA' s response is 100 x faster than it was for Katrina and demographics had a major role in response time.

Climate. Changed.

Now Milton in the Gulf is a hurricane a day ahead of schedule and headed right for Florida.

Where’s Trump with his Sharpie? We need this one to change course.

Never really thought of that. Maybe your right. Maybe 7 days is a regular response time for FEMA. Yes Katrina was a horrible response too. I guess I've always assumed that they would be one of the first on the ground but I have now learned first hand that it has been very different
