Yeah they said it was the largest slide ever along HWY 1. Something that big might be years before its reopened.

I think this might be just a little more difficult than a bridge in a metro area. You're talking about millions of tons of rock and dirt and they don't even know if the road is still there.

I drove that highway from Oakland to Santa Barbara last time I was in CA. So pretty.

It's a remote stretch and was closed already from a slide they had hoped to have opened by mid June. Not no more.
