I know, that makes me cringe. One of the most rewarding things I did in LE was to hold child safety seat inspections and installations.

I had a lady come in for install with us. A week later she was t-boned, resulting in her vehicle flipping side over side. She was partially ejected but relatively unharmed (amazingly). The child was hanging upside down, strapped into her seat crying when we got on scene.

Mom wrote a letter to the paper thanking us for helping her but a more heartfelt tribute to us for the install. Her husband quit his job and got hired on the force after going through all this.
