This island is always left for anyone who is light enough. It doesn't belong to any driver. It is awesome! I do it every now and then. An annual membership to their country club/ golf course is $27000 with a $43000 initiation fee. I get to look for free though.

We took my 3/4 ton pick up and toy hauler on a ferry out to Madeline Island on Lake Superior last year and they never used chocks so apparently its not SOP. They didn't even come around to make sure all the cars and trucks had their emergency brakes on and you were allowed to get out and walk around the ferry for the 30 minute trip.
