So all Hunter had to do is remove and destroy the hard drive? And he didn’t know anyone he could call to instruct him in this? He had to take it to a shop knowing all the incriminating evidence it held? That seems incredibly unlikely if he’s truly a linchpin between murky overseas crimes and the highest seats of government in the U.S. Even the premise of the alleged crimes seems weird unless that hard drive held another 400 hours of Hunter starring in porn that MTG can’t wait to get her hands on. What are the odds the FBI "lost" that laptop?
Do you assume that when you drop off your computer for repair that they're going to look at your personal stuff on it? The owner of that shop took the laptop as payment for his services after Hunter failed to return and pay. He then looked at its contents, got very nervous about what he was seeing, contacted the FBI. They weren't interested. So he then took it to others. The FBI became interested when they learned whose hands it had gotten to. By then copies of the hard drive had been made and ultimately major liberal outlets that you respect verified that yes the laptop is Hunter's. AFTER they did everything possible to keep people from learning about it before the 2020 election.

As opposed to Democrats having closed door depositions in the past? Whatever learned will be made public knowledge in due time with either an impeachment proceeding or an arrest and trial after Trump returns as president. Which is a major motivation behind the attempts to keep him out of office.

If it typically starts with closed door depositions then why the urgency to have it in the open? Might turn into a spectacle designed by his lawyers to create doubt. We've already seen that his legal team tried to get blanket immunity past the judge recently. I don't recall Pelosi, Schiff, or Nadler being accommodating to Republicans.
