3 bd 2 ba. 1600sf New roof, siding. Kitchen, both baths remodeled in 2013/14. Maybe worth 230k? Needs an appraisal. At one time I thought I might retire in Vegas.
wow so cheap. i asked some locals when i was there and they said you can buy a house for $300k. in toronto and vancouver you can buy a house for $1,000,000 or more.

I am not totally disagreeing with you. 2012 had some of the lowest rates and much, much lower prices. But there is a bigger picture. I cannot get top dollar for a house with 1974 decor. I may not even be able to sale at all at a reasonable price.

Rising rates will slow down sales and pricing, but over time they will level out. Just as it took time for low rates to get rid of excess inventory. Bottom line is that it doesn’t matter as long as you can afford what you buy. Compare your cost to the cost of renting a similar property.

Very interesting data by @StephenPunwasi and @BetterDwelling I haven't seen it adjusted like this before. https://betterdwelling.com/canadian-household-debt-is-back-above-us-great-recession-numbers/ … I beleive there are some charts cirtulating over the Internet which present unadjusted data so be careful. When in doubt stick to @BetterDwelling data

agreed. theres lots in common with capitalism and previous economic systems which is how you can see why they both fail:

Capitalists have for decades claimed socialism is supposedly bad because it will lead to large monopolies, but the reality is that capitalism has created the dystopia they warned of: giant unaccountable corporate monopolies control our economies, and lives

chomsky says what we want in life is dignity, creativity (even if its just producing something at work), and do something meaningful.

he said worker control was the slogan of the republican party, i think he said american workers considered industrial capitalism an attack on their dignity.

he blames the huge propaganda industry of advertisements for encouraging us to buy stuff all the time. he says something like they spend more money on ads than on some tv shows. cant recall what he said about the papers, but some of them look like PR for corporations.

And her parents are first generation immigrants who came to the us with nothing. That's where the money comes from. They work, whereas other people sit around and complain...like the losers on that Twitter account

in this video, chomsky says the capitalists advertisers teach children how to nag at their parents.

so someone didnt raise my dad right because he sides with the rich over workers.

my dads friend owns a company and many of the workers pretend to work because theres no supervisor. so my dad told the owner that he needs to hire a supervisor.

i wouldnt do that because the workers are less fortunate than the supervisor.
